I just started Clomid this month and I have no idea what the risks are of multiples. I am super tiny and fear that this may happen. How many of you have gotten pregnant with multiples on Clomid doing IUI??? Thanks for helping me ease my concern.

Re: Multiples possibility?!?!
This is the wrong place to ask: You'll find that lots of people here would respond that they got pregnant with multiples on clomid, but that's because everybody here has multiples
The right place to ask about our risk of multiples? Your doctor. And if he/she brishes you off, run. And make sure that you are being monitored with ultrasound when you're on Clomid. If your doctor tells you you don't need to be monitored, run.
I agree with the pp -- our perspectives here are a little skewed as to the chance of multiples. However, the generally recognized stat is 10%, even though the study listed in the clomid pamphlet is 5% or less. Whether Clomid is right for you is not a decision to take lightly. Your husband and doctor should definitely be a part of that discussion.
I am petite and carrying twins but am working on my 3rd month of bed rest.
ETA: Another thing to consider is that one medical intervention can lead to others. I took Clomid, got twins, and have been on several medications to prevent labor and prepare the babies for premature birth.
Preemie ID DDs; then DS; then natural M/C; now due 10/17
High risk for pre-term: weekly Makena injections
It's Clomid and spontaneous. And while I love my kids, multiples are high risk. Of course there should be a healthy concern both for the mother and the babies. I would not wish a multiples pregnancy on anyone.
Thank you all for your advice. I am being monitored and at the beginning of April I'm getting my dosage doubled. Hopefully with the monitoring the chances will be less. I know they are still there and just want everyone to be healthy. Congrats to all of you and your blessings!
Hoping to get Pregnant!
i'm not familiar with Clomid (sorry didnt know there were grammar police on here), thats what i meant. and i thought her "concern" was a worrisome... a healthy concern, of course, should be for all pregnancies. and although you may have had maybe not a great experience with your multiples pregnancy, (i'm saying that because you said "i would not wish a multiples pregnancy on anyone.") some of us have and CAN have, as i had. I was just letting her know to be excited, more than scared/concerned. Thank you for correcting me on the Clomid fact.
It's not about grammar. It's about sensitivity. Unless you see robots in signature pictures, everyone's children here are natural.
I had an awesome, complication free pregnancy too. But to tell her not to have any concerns is misguided. A lot can go wrong, and frequently does. There's a reason multiples pregnancies are classified as high risk from the outset. It's scary.
Exactly. A healthy, complication free, full term multiples pregnancy is not the norm by any means.
I apologize for using the word "natural"... i think we all knew what i meant though...i get a little ticked when ppl ask me if my girls were "natural" too so i dont know why i even said it that way.
and as i said before, when i said no concerns, i thought she meant worrisome.
I was just trying to make her feel more comfortable with the idea of multiples.
Sorry if my response offended anybody... I just get excited when i hear or know of someone who is having multiples! I guess i didnt read into my response as much as you all did. I apologize!
