Is this a good double jogging stroller?

Is the Instep double jogging stroller a good stroller?  I found a used one for $100.  is that a reasonable price considering that it's $180 new?  I have found myself wanting a double stroller on more than one occassion.  All I have is the peg perego triple stroller.

  • I don't know the stroller - but I have bought a few used strollers off CL.

I would want to know how used is the stroller.  I would only pay $100 if it's practically new.  IMO a stroller is like a car, you lose value the minute you take it off the lot :)

I totally understand why you'd need a double.  I have twins and I use my single all the time!

  • It's through the local MoMs club.  I have yet to ask what year she bought it.  She linked to a pic on amazon.  I hate when people do that.  I want to see the actual stroller.

  • Funny you should ask!  I just got this exact stroller used off of Craig's List for $100 yesterday.  When I got it home it cleaned up nicely and easily,  and when we went out for a walk, and I really like it!  It handles really well and turns nicely, and it seems like a nice smooth ride, especially on bumpy terrain.  The seats recline almost completely flat and they sit up nicely.  I was worried that they would be uncomfortable not sitting completely upright, but they didn't mind it bit - and I don't see this being a problem in the future.

On the downside, the basket is kind of small, but I think it will be workable.  The handle bar extends far enough that I think I could hook our diaper bag on it if we needed.  There isn't a cup holder, but I think you can buy one that snaps on to the handle at BRU.  It is kind of heavy, but I'm able to manage it on my own just fine, but wouldn't be able to do it one handed.  Overall, though I'm really happy with the purchase.  The way I figure it, for that price I would have only gotten an umbrella stroller, which wouldn't have been nearly as nice.  I say go for it!

  • one thing I forgot to mention is that it is very easy to push with one hand if needed, and the bar is lower - I'm 5'5" it it hits at about my belly button.  The reason I say this is that if you had one in a carrier on your chest it would probably be enough room.
