The first one was hilarious, because our SW brought her new SW who had just joined the office a few months before, and an intern. Quite the crowd. Our SW asked some questions about how we were adjusting, our stress levels, how we felt we were bonding with DD, who was coming to visit when, how her first dr appt went, etc. We had videotaped DH with DD, so we showed off the video and had them all laughing. The hour flew, and they all took off.
The other 2 were pretty much the same thing, with a couple of added bits. Our SW asked a lot of the same questions and basically just hung out and chatted with us for a while.
MN and KS only require one, so that's all we had. I know we have the same SW so I can tell you firsthand, it was really fun. She is so laid back! We talked about Luke, his dr. appts, his sleeping/eating habits, how our families felt about him. She looked at pictures and gushed over him. It was really fun. We had a really good time.

Matched 10/09
Sweet little Luke was born 12/9/09!
Ours was great! The SW asked about Ben's sleeping and eating schedule. She asked what kinds of things he was doing (not much at the first visit since he was only 6 weeks old...LOL). She asked how the family was doing and how we were adjusing. Mostly it was just a bragging session for us. The next 3 were done over the phone with the same kinds of questions. The last one was in our home again when Ben was 5 months old. He was more alert and doing so much more so this visit was really fun. We had to feed him and he pooped so I guess she got to see our diaper changing skills. Post placement visits are so much fun. Enjoy it and show off that baby!

They were both great. They only lasted about a 1/2 hour. The first time she wanted to see her nursery and just asked a lot of the same questions pp's mentioned above. How the family was adjusting to her, asked about her doctors appts, how she was sleeping and eating, etc. Like Amy said, it is a bragging session. It's actually a lot of fun.

You basically get to brag about your son/daughter (what mommy does not love to do that with a captive audience). They want to hear about milestones, attachment, health, adjustment, routines, eating habits, sleeping habits and so on. NOTHING to be nervous about!!!! We have really enjoyed PP visits b/c it reminds me how far we have come. We always laugh and my boys will play. We provided a certain amout of pictures at each visit (that is a requirement of South Korea). We required to provide 8-10 pics however I typically send 20-30 with the request that several be given to his foster mom!
Enjoy it is truly a wonderful part of the process!

The same types of questions except DD was a toddler so the SW observered our interactions. The first was when DD had only been with us 2 weeks so by the last one at 6 months our SW could tell a big diffference withh DD bonding well with ourr family. We had 4 visits in our home.
We've had two so far, and they are fun. The social worker just asks questions about how DD is doing and how we are doing with being parents. We talk about what's going on with different stuff (like what the hold up with medical records, attorney questions, etc), and then she just cuddles DD while we engage in small talk. Our agency requires one visit a month until finalization, which we have scheduled for May 5.

Post placement is such a breeze. I remember with home study visits being anxious and worrying about every thing they might ask/look at. Not so much with post placement.
I think we just waved her in the front door when she came because we were busy diaper changing and preparing a bottle lol
We did our normal routine - she watched, asked questions, talked to us about how things were going, our emotional state, our 'story' with how everything 'went down', asked about his feeding schedule, asked about weight/height/doctor visits. Basically looking to make sure you are doing everything that you should as new parents and making sure you are holding up as well as expected for new parents.
We had one at 6 weeks, one at 2 months and one at 4 months with finalization at 6 months.
Re: Tell me about your post-placement visit(s)
They were a blast! We got to show off DD.
