NE1 get a false negative?

in 1st Trimester
I POAS the day before my AF was due and got a negative and yet...still no AF.  I have an OB appt scheduled to see what is going on just in general but have not had the heart to test again...anyone go through the same thing?  What was the result?

    yeah - it's called testing too early.

    Are you referring to the fact that she already has a 28w pregnancy ticker in her siggy?  LOL I wasn't even going to go there.

    um...this.  i dare say probably about 90% of the women on this board tested negative before they tested positive, b/c most of us are unable to stop ourselves from testing early. 

    with my previous pregnancy, i didn't test positive until 14dpo (with numerous negatives before that).  if AF doesn't show, test again.

    I got 2 false negatives because I tested too early. As hard as it is, wait a few days and test again.

    Did you have regular cycles before this?  How late is AF?  Are you charting - do you know when you O'd? 

    Sure, I got a BFN before I got a BFP, but I don't really consider it a false negative.  It was just too early.  The blastocyst hadn't implanted yet, so there was no mini-placenta to make hCG & I technically was not pg yet.  3 days later I got a BFP.
