Baby Names

If it's a boy...I can't catch a break!!

I have narrowed it down to two possible names (LN is similar to Wilsons)

Isaiah Grant Wilsons (two very significant men in my life named Grant)

Julian Michael Wilsons (DH is named Michael)

Problem is that DH isn't sold on either choice. But he isn't sold on ANYTHING, and he will do NO searching of his own for names...

These are my two favorite boys names, but DH is concerned that even though Isaiah is a Biblical name, it's too "out there" and possibly a little klassy

DH's concern with the name Julian, is that it's getting too popular, he doesn't like the NN "Jules" and he thinks that it sounds wayyyy too feminine.

HELP!!!

  • Are you finding out the sex of the child? My H was less inclined to talk or seriously think or look at or anything about names until we found out the sex of the baby. So maybe that is what your H needs to kick it into high gear?
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

  • I do think Jules sounds a bit feminine. Sorry.

If DH isn't on board, it looks like it's time to move on. You've got time to find something you both like.

Well my DH is the one that wants to be team Green, not me!! I might have to threaten him with a "help me pick names, or we are finding out the sex"!! lol

I agree with your DH on Julian. I'm not a fan of Isaiah either tho.  Maybe try nymbler?

  • What about Isaac? Of course I'm partial to it, but I think it's a bit more classic than Isaiah and less feminine than Julian.

Don't get me wrong I actually loathe the NN Jules also! It was just something he threw out there.

His name would be just Julian if we went that route..

  • I happen to like Julian more out of the two, but I feel your pain with the name picking issue. My bf just doesnt care one way or another...doesnt matter what name I spit out his response is ALWAYS a shrug followed by "sounds fine".....ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Its his kid too, drives me insane, but I am not finding out the sex ((he is which I still am not too thrilled about -- He will tell our families and mine are not known for being quiet)) But in any case, if DH is really deadset against it, sounds like you might try some other options..your mind change a few times before baby arrives, I know mine has! :)
  • I like both, with Isaiah Grant being #1. Hmmm. Perhaps a pp's suggestion of Isaac would appease your Dh? It's tough when the guys are picky... my man is picky too! And we don't even have a baby to name yet!

Isaiah is fine.  I also think Julian is a very effeminate name.  No way would I ever saddle a little boy with this name.

  • Julian Michael threw me off... I immediately thought it was "Jillian Michaels" the personal trainer on The Biggest Loser. She may not be famous down the road, but it still might be something to think about.

  • Personally I would do this...

     Julian Grant Wilsons

Isaiah Michael Wilsons (this flows a lot better to me)

    How about Elijah or Isaac?

My DH was the exact same way.  We didn't really talk names until we knew it was  a boy.

Julian is nice (it is on our list too) but I can understand his concern. I have thought of that as well and to be honest, will probably not use it because of that.

Hard to know your taste as those two names are polar opposite to me... how about:

    Sebastian

    Jameson

    Gavin

    Simon

    Graham

    Nathaniel

    Everett

    Caleb

    Noah

    Elias

    Samuel
