Anyone else start to notice a slight awkwardness in your midsection/back when you're holding your LO? I don't feel pain or anything, more of an awareness that I'm growing.
It makes me wonder about instances in the coming months where I might not be able to hold him very easily. He is 30 pounds and I worry about instances where I will NEED to pick him up while he's wriggling and squirming and it makes me almost break out in a sweat.
Aye carumba!
Re: Moms with toddlers - picking them up
I notice I'm a lot more tired easily when carrying him - I avoid carrying him up or down the stairs at all cost these days. It's not necessarily uncomfortable right in my midsection, but just feels overall like it's more of a strain.
I definitely worry about being 30+ weeks with a big ol' belly and trying to get him in and out of his crib!
Yeah, my OB told me as long as it seemed comfortable and didn't cause any pain, I could pick him up. But we're already trying to get him used to being carried less. He did however say that as I got bigger, it would just be more awkward and to be careful b/c it would make me off balance. So far I haven't really noticed anything, except it aggravates my RLP. So if he wants to be held, I ask him to 'jump' to get into my arms.
I had to carry him out of daycare last week kicking and screaming. That will be interesting when I'm 8 months along, LOL.
This is exactly what I worry about!
and lately diaper changes are literally a wrestling match. It is going to be interesting, no doubt about it.

It is definitely going to be interesting. We call DS our little monkey baby because he still loves being carried - he just grabs on like you see monkey babies do all the time
I am trying to start weaning him off of it now, even though it still isn't too uncomfortable (except when getting him out of the crib or when he is throwing a fit) ... hopefully he won't be too bad by the time I can't really carry him anymore!
This gives me hope that it's just a phase. He used to lay so nice, but ever since around December it has just been craziness. I will keep my fingers crossed that he grows out of it soon!

I think my two-year old is really taking advantage of how badly I don't really want to pick him up
I carry him the best I can, when I have to, but it's getting hard on my arms to hold him in such an unnatural position. KWIM?
For outings, we're using the umbrella stroller more and more. Whenever I'm not sure I can trust him, he's in it!
