Local option for 3 year old bday party in June?

I don't want anything outside like the park b/c it will be so hot and potential for rain, etc.  I was considering Chuck E Cheese, but I know that is hit or miss.  My son LOVES Chuck E Cheese though, so that's a top contender but I was hoping to get more ideas.  It would be for about 10 kids plus the adults.  I have no desire to have the party at our house and I'm willing to pay up to about $350 if the place is worth it and provides everything we want (food for kids and adults, cake, drinks, clean up, etc.).  Thanks!

  • I went to a party at Big'z and it was a lot of fun.  They have that big party room (with a/c) and then the big faux grassy area for the kids to play.  Might be a good option. No clue on prices...

  • Mini Town or Just Add Children are some choices.

  • Pure Fun Party
  • Would you consider a swim party?  If you live near a Spectrum with an outside pool, they have great swim birthday parties there and you don't have to be a member to have a party there.  The outside pool has a large area that is very toddler friendly (I think it's 1-2 feet deep).  The pool is open to members starting at 11 AM, and we went to a birthday party that started at 9:30 AM, so we the entire pool was for the group from 9:30 to 11, and then at 11, they did cake and lunch.

If you want an indoor party place, my kids love going to birthday parties at Pump It Up.  I think they can provide pizza, and then you'd just bring the cake.

We recently went to a party at Funtastic Playland by Northstar Mall, and I think that would be a good venue as well.  We've also gone to birthday parties at both Little Gym and Gymboree, and those are great too.

  • We have been to a few parties at Pure Fun and it seems like a great place for 3 year olds, especially those who like big slides and bounce houses.  We had my son's 3 year party at Paint, Paper, Scissors, but it's since closed.  I think there's a similar art place in Alamo Heights.  We are doing his 4 year old party at Tumbleweeds (tumbleweeds.vpweb.com) and I think it would be great for 3 year olds.  It's a little $$, but you can have unlimited kids so that helps.  I've heard good things about Funtastic Playland.  Pump it Up was OK but it was a tight space and if kids don't like bounce houses, there isn't much else.
