VBAC

Hi ladies

I'm gonna hang out here for awhile  Smile

I'm not pregnant with #2 and we won't start trying until the end of this year/early next year.

I was induced at 39w6d due to having GD. I went in at 1cm dilated and 50% effaced. I ended up with a section due to a failed vacuum attempt (wouldn't budge after 6 tries, 2 hours of pushing), fetal distress (cord compression) and her position -- she had started out sunny side up, but tried to flip herself around as I was pushing. She got "stuck" because her head (95th percentile!) bent to the side and her shoulders were twisted as I was pushing. My doctor said that once she saw the baby's position inside of me, she was positive there was no way I could have physically pushed her out.

Re: Hi ladies

  • Yikes!  That sounds like it was a scary situation but glad that everything turned out well.

  • Wow, that sounds like a pretty tough delivery (both physically and emotionally)!  Welcome!  We'll be TTC#3 at the end of this year/early next year as well Smile  This is a great board for support, information, resources, and did I mention support!

  • Welcome to the board!  I had a c/s for a malpositioned baby too.  There are a few ladies on here who had a malpositioned baby and then a VBAC with a baby who was properly positioned, and said it made a world of difference in how the birth went.  So that gives me hope that I won't have the same thing happen next time around. :)

  • Yup. Bean's head was tilted and she was sunny side up, but Bug came out in 30 minutes of pushing. HUGE difference!

    Welcome to the board :)
