Re: Allergy Panel
I don't know of anyone who ever got them this young. My friend's DD is 18 months and they are doing the elimination diet - she went back on special formula only about 6 weeks ago and they are adding in only one new food every 3 days or so. So far she's allergic to peanuts, eggs, grapes/raisins, and possibly milk and gluten. She had some scratch tests done (that confirmed the first three). I feel terrible b/c she was eating basically everything and has always had skin issues, but no one ever thought that the skin problems were related to food allergies.
Also she said that the stuff they use for the milk test (if they're doing that one for your LO) already have the proteins broken down. This can cause a non responsive reaction. From what she's been told most milk allergies are caused by the proteins so it shows no reaction when there may be an allergy there.
Again, this is all info that I'm getting form my friend, not directly from any doctors or from my own first hand experience. Anyway, good luck! Hope everything works out...
