What did your DD wear for her baptism/dedication/christening?

My boys just wore dressy outfits (DS1 in a white polo and khakis, DS2 in a blue/white gingham collared one-piece).

DD could wear the gown my sisters and I wore or we could get her something of her own.  My mom also mentioned making something out of her wedding gown.

Re: What did your DD wear for her baptism/dedication/christening?

  • My mom made DD's out out my wedding dress. Well, it was out of a scarf thing that came with it.
  • I bought DD two dresses and let her pick the day of.

One was a white pillow case dress with her initials on the front and the other was a PBK all white (Easter?) dress (its long past sold out, I got the last size 3T and it fit a little small).  She was almost 4 for the baptism and it was in August.  It had cute little eyelets but was layered, sleved and had a bow in the back...I don't have a picture here and can't get on photobucket.  She wore the PBK one.

I think it would be neat to have one made, I thought about that with the kids but there wasn't enough time.  I love gowns for NBs and little babies.   All of mine were older when they were baptized.

  • All three of my DD's wore the gown that I wore when I was Baptized. My cousins also wore it, as did my sister and my dad and aunt. My Great-Great grandmother made it, so it has special family meaning.
  • Both of my DDs wore the gown that I, my brother, most of my cousins, my dad, aunts and uncles and my grandmother was baptized in. I think 26 babies so far have been christened in that gown. I love the sentiment behind using a family gown.
  • Both girls wore the gown I wore at my baptism.
  • Both of my kids wore the gown that I wore for my baptism.

  • My kids both wore the simple white cotton gown that I wore for my baptism as an infant.  Right before DS wore it, I had all of our monograms put on the back of it in tiny pastel stitching.  Mine is in the center, in pink, DD's is to the left, in pink and then DS's is on the right, in blue.
  • DD wore the gown that I was baptized in (my mom did a crapola job of saving any momentos from my childhood except for this dress, so I made sure to get a preservation box and pack it away safely for DD in case she has a daughter one day.)

  • A plain white dress I got from Hannah Andersson. I'm just not really a fan of the fancier gowns.

If you don't want to get a gown, they had really pretty simple white cotton dresses at Target when I was there today.

  • A white dress I bought at Baby Gap
  • I bought a dress from strasburg.

It was similar to this, but not exactly the same.
