Backing up photos?

So I'm pretty illiterate when it comes to technology.  What do I need to buy to back up all my pictures on.  My computer has been acting a little strange lately and I want to be proactive and get all my pictures backed up in case something happens.  I'm just clueless on what it is I need!  Someone help!?  TIA

    I think DH puts ours onto an external hard drive that just connects to our computer with a usb.

    This. Or you can use a cd/dvd or a flash drive.  My vote would be to use an external hard drive though!

    External harddrive, and then keep it seperate from your computer in case of theft or disaster, etc.

    We use an external hard drive as well. It is awesome to have that safety.
