We finally found a car, actually, we found two. Both used, with nearly the same milage and at the same price point, at the same dealership. All the similarities are making it hard to choose.
I'm picking between the Volvo Xc90 and the Acura MDX. I rigged up our RF infant seats in the cars tonight and because the Volvo's 2nd row seat slides forward and backward, my husband had enough legroom in the passenger seat of the car. With the Acura it was a tight squeeze.
Do convertible carseats take up more or less room? If you have the XC90 what seats do you have in the back and how do they do?
The main benefit of the MDX is that it has three latch hook ups in the 2nd row, and I've read online that you can fit 2 radians and an infant seat across the back.
Anyone have the MDX and 3 seats? How much space does it leave you?
TIA!
Re: carseats in Acura MDX vs. Volvo XC90
I think it totally depends on the type of convertibles you get. We have 2 Britax marathons (they're huge) and so I'd say the infant seats (Graco Snugrides) were smaller/took up less space than what they're currently in.
I don't have the MDX but FWIW, I used my mom's lexus suv that is similar in style to the acura over thanksgiving break. The girls Britax seats both latched in the back but the middle (where I think you're asking if another seat could fit) was tight! I normally can sit between the girls w/o issues in my Toyota Highlander in the back, but in the Lexus I thought I'd need WD40 to wedge out. I guess an infant seat could fit between the Britax but it would be very, very tight!!

thanks ladies! We bought the XC90 - it was too good of a deal to pass up. Fingers crossed that we're done car shopping for a while.
