Cloth Diapering

Feeling so discouraged =(

So I literally started CDing yesterday and today LO has a rash! It looks so red on her little girl parts. I change her not even every 2 hours, maybe every hour and a half. I use a grovia magic stick on her at every change. I let her air out for a minute between changes as well. What am I doing wrong? I highly doubt it has anything to do with the detergent as I'm using Planet... help

Re: Feeling so discouraged =(

  • What diapers are you using?  Some LOs have sensitivity to fabrics like suedecloth, which are used in some diapers.

  • Don't give up! My DD is very sensitive to wetness... she had a grovia AIO on for a few hours today and was bright red when I took it off.  She definitely needs "stay dry" diapers or a fleece liner.

  • Loading the player...
  • It could still be the detergent.  Or maybe the diapers are not rinsed enough.  What kind of CD are you using?  I have heard of some babies being alergic to synthetic fibers or the opposite to natural fibers.  Sorry :(
  • Did you start using the magic stick before or after the rash?  I'm not sure what's in it but maybe that has something to do with it?  Sorry you are having troubles =(

  • I use Grovia AI2 and FLIP. Where can I get fleece liners? Can I make them? If so, how?

  • It might be the wetness...but Stella had a few little red bumps and then after a day or so it was like her skin adjusted. I would try no magic stick and see if that helps first. Fleece liners you just cut fleece the same size as the insert or a tiny bit smaller and lay it on top. No sewing needed!
