I just don't have time to get solids in except for at the end of the day when we are all eating dinner. Some days I get them in twice but some days not...I try not to stress about it but I barely have time to get both babies fed their bottles before my 1.5 hour is up and they are ready for naps again lol
What words best for you? do you feed them solids together? separate times? once a day at this age or twice a day?
I feel like I need to increase it to twice a day because they want it...some days I just supplement it with a little more formula if I can't get a 2nd solids feeding in.
They are still doing 3 naps a day so that really limits my time lol Oh and keeping up with a 2.5 y/o hehe
TIA!
Re: solids@6months...what works for you?
Yeah - we had a hard time getting solids in too.
I started with one meal (rice cereal, fruit) - getting it in whenever I could. I would normally try to keep it in the mornings just in case they had a reaction. But some days if I didn't get that meal in, I didn't stress about it.
It wasn't until they went to 3 solid meals that I started putting a plan together...

Hey Carolina!
I am having a hard time getting them in as well. Consider yourself fortunate that they want them. Landry seems to like them okay and I have to pry Hudson's mouth open with the spoon.
I'm giving them about an hour after their first bottle, I bathe them and then, they take their first nap. I try to get all of this in in the morning while Emerson is at school so, it's out of the way. I also need to start giving them a second feeding. However, that night time feeding is a while away. I feed Emerson and my H and I eat after everyone is in bed.
Lets say our efforts are a good start!
We are on our spring break this week and I started PT Emerson this morning so, I'm throwing that in the mix as well-UGH!!!!! ; )
thank y'all!!
ougrad...good luck with PT! I tried that couple weeks, Gavin went commando and could have cared less :-P we will try again later :-P
LOL-diaper came off this morning and guess what the first thing she did was? Went into the kitchen and peed. She's NEVER peed on the floor-ever. Guess she's gonna show me!
I don't have a 3rd child so my situation is easier than yours. I do bottles, change diapers, then solids, all right in a row. It takes an hour, sometimes a little longer to do all of those things. I do this for the first 3 feeds of the day. The 4th feed is bottle only. I've found that my boys are starting to stay awake longer since starting solids. They can get to 1.45 hours, sometimes 2 hours before getting cranky, so that helps.
