Potty Training problems

HELP!  My DS is 3, and still refused to use the potty!  He will sit on it, he understands what to do, but just refused to actually do it.  Last night, he sat on the potty for 40 minutes...after dinner and 2 cups of water.  I know he had to go, but he wouldn't.  My DH and I thought we would use his nookie as a bargining tool (he uses it for bed), but he is fine going to bed without it now.  I took him to daycare in underware for about 2 weeks, and they finally told me they don't think he is ready, so back to pull ups.  Is anyone else having issues with potty training or some advice?

That sounds exactly like DD a few weeks ago.  She would refuse to sit on the potty or would sit for a few seconds and say all done.  Then last week at daycare she magically started using the potty.  We stayed in most of the weekend and had her in underwear, and she didn't have one accident.  This week she's done really well with only one accident last night.  I don't know what happened.  It's like a light bulb switched.  OH, on Saturday we made a potty chart together and spent a lot of time decorating it and hung it on the wall in the bathroom.  Every time DD uses the potty, she gets a sticker.  She couldn't be bribed into using the potty for candy or fruit snacks, but apparently stickers work.  Have you tried any positive rewards for going?

Yes.  He has gone a few times at home, and we always give him a high five, a big hug and a cup of chocolate milk (his favorite).  He has used the potty at daycare, so that is why we have been trying at home.  But it seems he only uses it at school when he sees the other kids doing it.  Maybe we will try the poster board with stickers.  Thanks for the suggestion!
