First some background info... Our DS's name is Colden Edward. DH is English and we wanted something from his heritage so we chose Colden. Edward is a family name on my side as well as on his side so that was a given mn for us. My name starts with a K and DH's name starts with a C so we all have names starting with the same sound. We didn't mean to do it and didn't realize it until we started thinking of baby names for #2.
My question is do you think it's too much if we also name baby #2 with a K or C name? Should it matter? Most of the names for girls I like start with K...
Re: question about sibling name
I think that's fine as long as its not to matchy, rhymy with Colden.
I don't think it matters whether the name starts with the same sound or not. You and YH didn't choose your names, and you certainly didn't marry each other because they started with the same sound. You also didn't choose your son's name because it started with the same sound as your names.
No reason to continue the trend, unless it's something you want to do, or it happens circumstantially (like you mentioned, you like girl names that start with K).
I agree!
