Amnio Monday - suggestions??!!

Im having my amnio monday to determine if babies lungs are mature - if so c-section is scheduled for Tuesday!! Very excited but a bit nervous as well...

anything last min. things I should know about the amnio?

- how long does it take, -any pain involved? any tips to make it more tolerable? just a little nervous!!

I had one. The minute the doctor walked into the room for the procedure, I closed my eyes and went to my happy place. I didn't want to see anything. It wasn't painful, but there was intense pressure. It was a quick procedure.

Afterwards, I felt woozy, hot, and sick to my stomach. I also had some cramping. After about an hour, I was fine.

My only tip is not to watch the needle. Other than that, enjoy! I thought it was fun to watch the monitor after I got poked. : )

I had one this week. The needle poke does not hurt that bad, but I thought the withdraw and having them move the needle around was pretty uncomfortable. It doesn't last that long though, so it's over before you know it and it really isn't that bad.

Oh, and definitely close your eyes.
