For those who are teaching their children about Jesus
We were talking about Easter yesterday and N is excited about eggs and baskets. I brought up Jesus, but 2.5 years seems a little young for the crucifixion and rising from the dead. So I just left it as Easter baskets are fun but Easter is really about Jesus. Maybe "all the things Jesus does for us" is enough at this age.
What do you tell your littles about Easter?
Re: Easter question
That reminds me of something that Evie said the other day. She came home from (Christian) preschool and told me, "Jesus is coming back!" I was kind of surprised, becuase she's a little young IMO to learn about death/resurrection and the second coming, but I told her that she was right. Then she says, "And tractors are coming back! And cupcakes!" So obviously it was over her head.
We do a devotional every night before bed. We use The One Year Devotions for Preschoolers from the Little Blessings line. I pray with her and I've been trying to get her to pray on her own, but she doesn't really understand the concept yet. But if you were to ask Evie what Easter was about, she would probably say bunnies.
TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.
We haven't talked about Easter much yet. I did buy her the new Veggie Tales Easter movie and we'll watch it with her and maybe try to explain it from there. We'll talk to her about that Jesus died for our sins and that's why we celebrate Easter. I think she's a little too young to understand being crucified and the resurrection.
