I went from happy hour to cranky hour!

My boys are almost 3mos old now and everyday around 5-6pm for the last 3wks they start getting so fussy, cranky, screaming, crying and nothing helps them so we've been feeding them at that time and thats the only thing that helps...not sure I should just give a bottle...could it be there trying to get their fill before bedtime?

I try to give the last bottle around 7 or 7:30...but I'm hoping I'm not doing something wrong..they just started eating 5oz every 3 1/2 hours....could that still not be enough? I'm not sure there used to that amount just yet b/c they still spit up after so I'm afraid to increase the amount.

Anyone else experience witching hour?lol

  • What time are they going to sleep for the night?  We had a witching hour for awhile around that age, but it didn't last for long. I think once we started putting them down for bed earlier it got better.

FWIW, ours still eat every 2.5 - 3 hours and they go down for the night between 6:30 - 7pm.

  • Ugh--the witching hour was HELL for us!  It started to get better once we started putting them on a schedule / nighttime routine.  We also put them down for the night between 6:30-7:00pm.  Have you established a bedtime routine yet?

  • We have established a routine this past week or so...I start baths and putting them down between 6:30 and 7:00...I guess it gets better?lol

    There down by 7:30/8:00

  • try getting them down a little earlier. That really helped for us. Just try changing it by 15 minutes earlier each night until it's more like 6:30 - 7pm when they are down. This made a huge difference for us.
