Night head injuiries question

So tonight Keira went head first into the wood part of our glider ottoman. She hit her forehead pretty hard. It's already raised up and squishy feeling. She stopped crying pretty quickly, but this was RIGHT before bed. Besides vomiting, is there anything I should keep an eye out for? She won't let me ice it.

Why do these things always happen at night?

Re: Night head injuiries question

  • As long as she didn't lose consciousness and doesn't have vomiting, and isn't inconsolable, it's fine to let her sleep. Don't be surprised if in the morning she has a black eye. Sometimes the swelling from the forehead drains down to the eyelids. Hope she's feeling better!

  • Thanks doc! I was hoping you would be on.  :)  I am just about to get her pix taken too. Life of a 2 year old.
