So found out my due date its oct 12th, so we usally go to the shore mid september for a week this year it would be sept 17-24 . Doc said i should still be ok to go as long as im not 4cm and leaking( just a senerio) the shore would be about 2 hours from my delivering hosp. Do you think we should still go???? whould you still go that close to your due date?

i think if the doc gave you a check up right before you go and they have no concern about it, it should be fine...but it really comes down to your comfort level. you have to be good with it and able to relax :-)

This exactly.  It sometimes takes me even longer that an hour.  I'm all about living it up till the ball drops!!!

i woudl definitely go if the doc clears you.  Enjoy.  Rest and relax...you won't have that opportunity for a while.

Schedule a doc appt the week before you are headed to the shore and if the doc says you're good-to-go then you are! Relax and enjoy!

Is it something you have to pay for now or can pay before you go? I know a lot of ppl who that far along just didnt feel that great and theres a pretty big chance then dr orders may be stay in bed or no long rides in the car... So I guess my advice would be if you dont have to pay upfront then still plan on going but if I had to dish the cash out now I wouldnt just in case I couldnt get my money back if we couldnt go. Thats just really close to your delivery date. I hope all goes well for you and you can go!

Oh yeah, 2 hours is nothing in 1st time delivery speak.  You'll have plenty of time to make the drive.  I'd say go unless you're a high risk pregnancy.

My experience with my first one is that I went to the OB that morning, wasn't dialated and ended up going into labor at 2:45am. Had the baby 2.5 hours later....super fast for the first time! I've heard that you follow your mom's patterns for delivery (i.e. if her labor was fast you'll go fast). Just a word of warning. I was due the week after labor day weekend and I still did our yearly lake trip (just a little over an hour from our house/hospital) and I'm thankful I didn't go into delivery b/c I'm not sure I would have made it to the hospital. I think since you'll be going a month before your due date you'll be okay, but just wanted to share my story.
