Contraction ?

I know I'm not having real contractions yet but I've been having BH, I think. My stomach keeps getting really tight but no pain. But the underside of my stomach doesn't get hard, only the top and front.

When it's a real contraction will my whole stomach get hard?

My stomach doesn't get hard when I have contractions, mine are all in my pubic area and back, but I think it's different depending on where the baby is positioned.  Mine just feel like really bad menstrual cramps and are located in that area.

The OB nurse told me if your belly is as tight at your forehead you are having a contraction. 

She told me this because apparently I'm having them, but not feeling them.

BH are not usually painful, but laboring contractions usually come with period-like cramps or lower back pain.

My whole belly gets hard but sometimes I get them in my back.

BH do hurt!!! My belly gets hard up top but not at the bottom as well. I have cramps that sometimes start through my lower back and moves to the front and sometimes its just the front lower area. It definitely stops me in my tracks and last like 2 minutes and thats it. I'm also 2 cm dilated and 1/2 effaced as of Tuesday!!!
