C is teething so much and always staring at our food when we eat dinner, thought this would be a good thing to give her while we eat... Also thinking about doing purees this weekend... She is one hungry girl lately!
We did, and they were a massive hit. We started with purees, though. I don't know that I would have gone straight for the MumMums.
Same as Jersey, we started with purees/cereal, then started puffs a couple months later. I don't think DD would have done well with mum mums right off, it took her some practice to get used to purees.
We started purees around 5 months, skipped cereals and just went straight for veggies. There's a big difference between purees and harder textures like puffs and mummums, though. Purees are good to just get them used to the idea of passing food to the backs of their mouths and swallowing it. I wouldn't start with puffs or mummums that early, since she'll have absolutely no idea what to do with them. I'd be worried about choking.
I want to say that our pedi said to wait until he had a better pincher grasp for picking up the puffs on his own. He used them to practice. Maybe 7 months? Same with MumMums. Wow, that feels like so long ago. I'm kind of sad I can't remember.
ETA: Oops, you weren't asking me. Sorry, I saw the "Jen" and thought you meant me. Even I can't read my name right these days.

Jen- When did you start giving N purees and mums and puffs?
C seems so ready and I am pretty ready myself!
