Got a ticket today and freak out

So I took DD to a late doctors apt and then planned on meeting DH for dinner after..but he was running late from work again...so I stop at the store to kill some time..As I was leaving I made a u-turn and got pulled over! I was so blown away bc I make u-turns all the time there so I had no idea what I did...the cop told me that is a no u-turn..WHAT?! I looked behind and the sign was way off in the distance and barely seen by the trees that covered it!!! I have never gotten a ticket or even been pulled over! 

So DD is screaming DH texts me while I wait for my ticket and says he still isn't done at work...so I freak out and start crying...ok not crying...but sobbing....the cop comes back and gives me a $120 ticket!!! seriously!!!???

I texted DH back and said F** U I'm going home....I cried the whole way home (long way) and wouldnt answer DH's calls..

I calmed down now, but pissed till...I ripped on DH bc he has worked late every night this week and I am left taking care of DD by myself and cleaning, cooking...I lost it and..it felt good.. I got some TLC from DH, pizza and a 7Up...GOOD NIGHT! and F** U you a$$ whole of a cop

Ugh...that sucks!  I am sorry!  I sobbed the only time I got a ticket and I am still upset about it...tickets are just miserable.

You poor thing!  My DH got a ticket for a u-turn a couple of years back for doing basically the same thing you did; he really had no idea you couldn't do a u-turn there.  He had never even had a written warning.

Can you fight the ticket? If you go back and take a picture of the sign and the obstructed view, maybe it gets reduced or thrown out? It works here all the time. If you go to the trouble to dispute it, they generally take something off.

This! I would totally do this. There is no reason to let some jerk ruin your day and your driving record. Sorry this had to happen! Glad DH was there in the end to make you better.

Yes, do it! Fight the ticket! I'd go back and take a picture of the no U turn sign. 120 bucks for a sign you can't see is crazy!

about 3 years back, I got a ticket on Thanksgiving on my way to the gym.. no makeup on or anything. It was after it had rained and it was on the freeway... highway patrol sucks! He cited me going 90 in a 65 (I know it's wrong, but everyone always does it haha) in wet conditions.. like wth? really... I apologized sincerely with respect and everything... I cried when I called my mom and she wasn't even mad and my whole family makes fun of me on Thanksgiving every year asking if I got another ticket... I'm sorry.

I kind of have a different view. Yes tickets suck, we have all been there. It's not the end of the world though, and I would feel bad for telling my DH to F**K off.

I feel for you. I've gotten 2 tickets in my life and I cried both times. I just hate it. Feel better!
