Can you rec a good (preferably free) pattern for longies?  I have only ever knitted a scarf....and it was a while ago.  But I am pretty good at teaching myself how to do things, but something on the easier side would probably be better.

I currently have a size 8, 16in circular - a pair of size 7, 13in straight and  4, size 7, 7 in DPN. Could easily run to the store to get anything else I need.  I mostly just want to play around and see if I can actually do it.
