We have Thrush!

To those that have had it.. how long does it take to get better? and I have had problems with nursing for about a week.. so could this cause problems with nursing and if so what kinds?

    We are going on week 4! Do not skip medication doses! Dh is a PITA and sometimes misses the dose that he does after his night feeding. I find it best to give the medication with qtips. We rub the inside of his cheek with one, get another and do the other side and then one for each lip. Once we started with the qtips, it started going away. I steralize every  bottle nipple after each use along with the pacifier.

    I should mention that he has had it for so long because of antibiotics that he was on at birth.

    It could cause problems with breastfeeding but I am not exactly sure of all the complications. I know that it is often painful for the mom and baby has a hard time latching.

    She was latching and feeding for over an hour! then she started latching and pulling off every couple of minutes.. which was frustrating for her and me!

    Did you have any symptoms?  I've felt like we might be getting thrush for a week.  LO has 1 white spot on her gum, I sometimes have shooting pain in my breasts but other than that nothing else.  Did you call the ped or your doctor or both?

    I have shooting pains in my boobs, and after I pump my nipple looks alittle purple.. As for DD she has white on her, I thought it was formula, since we supplement but then I tried to whipe it off and it wouldnt come off.. We see the same Dr so he just gave us the same medicine to use, with extra refills.
