post-partum body

I am going to a wedding this weekend, and this morning I was packing my bag. I tried on a few different dresses to see what I wanted to wear. UGH. I think my post-partum body is totally fine and I've thought, "gosh, I'm still 10-15 lbs more than pre-pregnancy but I look fine so where did it all go?" Well...I'm really different from pre-preg. The dresses looked like hell except for this one that I had been meaning to get rid of or alter because it was it was a hand-me-down from my mom and too big...haha. That's the one I'm bringing.

I'm going to have to do some work to get back to normal this spring or I'll need a new wardrobe this summer....

 

How is everyone else doing in their bodies these days?

  • Ugh... I'm doing terrible. All the weight is off, but the body is NOT the same. I'm still in maternity work pants, and I wear a lot of the "non-maternity but could pass for maternity" shirts right now. Ick.

  • I'm actually in a smaller pants size than pre-pregnancy, but I still wear a few maternity shirts. I hate my tummy, and I think my c-section is to blame.
  • i could have written this post, OP. same problem. i have 4 weddings this year, so i started trying on every dress in my closet, and they all fit differently! well, let's say most don't fit at all. i'm only 5 pounds up but it's all kinda settled in my hip area and right around my rib cage?!most of the dresses won't zip right under the boob area.

    i had to go buy a new dress that didn't make me feel all pudgy in the middle. :-(  and i've been working out like crazy since my 6-week checkup so, don't feel bad. i think it just takes time.

  • Ugh, I'm right there with ya!  I'm still 10 pounds above pre-preg weight, have a bit of a belly, and I have no waist any more, haha.  I'm still on maternity leave and don't really go out much, so clothes aren't a big problem yet.  I'm dreading going back to work because I don't know what I'll wear.

    Oh, and it doesn't help that my mom is staying with us to help with LO.  She keeps talking to LO and saying "Oh, Cameron, your mom hasn't lost any weight."  Seriously annoying.

  • still have about 14lbs to lose.  tummy still flubby, @ss still huge and hips still wide.  definitely dont fit into prepreg jeans so im stuck in yoga pants and leggings.  im really depressed just thinking about it lol
  • I've still got 10 to go to get to my pre-pregnancy weight & ideally 10 more after that. I am still in maternity pants as well.

  • I'm actually 30lbs lighter than pre-preg but a lot of that has to do with my depression. My pants all sag off my ass but I don't have the want to buy clothes that fit.

  • Ugh, I hate my body right now.  It's mainly my own fault because I am not eating like I should be.  Once I go back to work next week I'm thinking it will be much easier for me to diet.  I'm still in maternity clothes and am dreading having to actually get dressed everyday.  Sad.
  • i have about 5 more pounds to get to my pre-pregnancy weight....but this 5 lbs seems to want to stick around.....i hate the lose belly skin going on....im in a wedding may 7th...praying my dress fits...may have to get some spanks...i want the extra "skin" gone STAT!

  • I am +17 lbs from my pre-pg weight. I know some of it is in my boobs, but the rest is in my thighs. yuk! I am not the exercise type, so I'm sure I'll be stuck with it for a while. Some old shirts fit, but none of my jeans fit. I bought a couple new things, but didn't want to buy too much b/c hopefully it's just temporary.

  • 5 pounds to go to pre-preg weight and 5 more to my bikini weight. I can just barely button my jeans, but have major muffin top. I'm going out with the girls tomorrow night and have no idea what I will wear. I also have no idea what I'll do when I start work in two weeks because my work pants do NOT button.

    I am squishy all over, even though I've been busting my butt in the gym for the past 6 weeks. 

  • I'm a little less than my PP weight but I hate my body right now.  I've always had a waist and if something wasn't going to fit, it would be too small in the legs and too big in the waist.  Now, I feel like I have no waist and my boobs are huge and nothing looks the same.  I hate the extra skin, when does that go away? Grrr.

  • I'm up 16 lbs from pre-pregnancy and am still wearing almost all maternity clothes.  Ugh.  My mom stayed with us for about a month after the baby to help out and cook (which I loved and am so grateful for) but she also kept making these scrumptious pecan pies.  I didn't lose hardly any weight until she left, but I'm working on it now...

  • Although I don't have any weddings to attend yet, I definitley have the dress!  I found a maxi dress with an empire waist last year for a wedding that was 3 days after I found out I was pregnant.  I was feeling majorly bloated at the time and this dress hid it quite well and was very flowy and comfortable.  But as far as my issues with my body?  Yeah, not liking the sagging belly so much.  I am attempting P90X with DH, but haven't made it through an entire workout doing ALL of the exercises yet.  blech

    Yeah my mom is weird like that, too. She has made comments about my "post-partum body" when everyone else is like, "wow, you must have lost all of your pregnancy weight!" (those people are wrong, too, but basically I went from a thin person to a thinn-ish person...and I look fine.) Why do moms have to be so weird?!

  • I am down 6lbs from Pre-pregnancy weight. I have been doing the 30day shred for about 45 days though and that has made a huge difference. Before I started I hated my stomach which was the part that was still different than before. But the 30day shred has been amazing and I can see my stomach tightening.

    I have lost 8" overall. I am doing Weight Watchers too, so that helps.  

    I am pretty sure my body will not be the way it was before, but as I was a little overweight then I hope to continue to get smaller and in better shape.

  • I can't stand my body right now.  I still have about 15 lbs to lose and everything all saggy.  I'm going to start the gym next week so I'm hoping that will help
