why didn't I think of that! Nursing top related

https://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=2366

I just bought some of these on babysteals earlier this week and I'm wearing one for the first time today.  Love!

I love my nursing bras (really can't go w/out one) and think it's dumb to wearing a nursing bra and nursing tank (and have 2 things to undo) but it's also frustrating to wear a nursing bra w/a regular tank stretch out the neckline while pulling it down.  But I always do that so I don't have my belly sticking out - even if no one can see b/c I'm covered or at home.

So this top is nice b/c it moves aside w/ the bra as if it were a nursing tank but w/out the extra bulk of the nursing tank shelf bra layer.

not sure if they are worth $25 b/c the crafty side of me knows I could DIY something similar with some cheap camis.  But if they come up on baby steals again you might want to check them out!

  • yeah they have them on amazon so i was able to buy it and have free return shipping when i didn't like it. i found it a little bulky where it attached to my bra - but all my clothes are very fitted so i don't know if that was the issue w/me.  but i loved the concept of these and like you, when I saw them on BS (a few months ago) i wish i had known about them sooner! too bad they didn't work out for me, but i'm glad they work well for you!

I feel the same way and have thought about trying to DIY something like this. I figure I can buy some inexpensive cotton camis from Target or Walmart and remove the straps and then add the hooks that slip into the bra strap loops. I think those hooks are in the notions at the fabric store.

  • I saw that on BabySteals... But I didn't think it would be of much use to me. I would never wear a nursing bra UNDER a nursing tank! That defeats the whole point! I really liked the Bravado tanks, so I just lived in them. Good to hear some feedback on that tho... If it's bulky, I might not like. I wear close fitting things too.

well, it's like half of a nursing tank, sort of.  it's not super bulky but i had a small 'bump' where the clip hooked onto my nursing bra when i tried it on and you could see it through my top. though the undercover mama does have 2 ways you can wear it and that is just one of them.  the other way was more of a pain though b/c you'd then have 2 areas to unhook in order to nurse (if i remember correctly)

  • yes, I have to wear a bra - no nursing tank ever (not even the bravado ones) would be supportive enough.

I see what you are saying Jaime, but yeah - my shirts just are not tight enough for it to make a difference, of if they are the clasps on my super duty nursing bra would probably already be visible.

hrm, maybe i should finally try the bravado tanks.  i have target ones and glamourmom ones, and both are too loose to wear most of my pre-pg tops over them!  so i'm still wearing non-mat shirts I wore during my pg, sigh, b/c all my other tops make the tanks all lumpy underneath...

I'm in this camp too. I only wear nursing tanks without a bra at home.
