Cascade inserts

My son is getting his inserts next week.  I am wondering, has anyone found a need to go up a shoe size to accomodate them? The PT told me she'd be able to tell once she saw them on his foot w/his shoes (they are the pattibob inserts and will have to be trimmed to his exact size), but I am just wondering.

Re: Cascade inserts

  • I will be stalking this thread.  The PT said she wanted Peyton to get ortho inserts because her feet are completely flat & it may help with her toe walking.

I know nothing about ortho inserts or how they are going to fit in her shoes.  She has fat little wide feet anyway!

  • DS2 is getting DAFO's from Cascade Orthotics.  He doesn't have them yet so I don't know about shoes and shoes sizes yet but I am expecting him to need a wide width shoes in possibly a bigger size.
  • Matthew has inserts and we have to go up a size.  Also like the pp, theyare wider as well.
  • Aiden has inserts as well right now.  We did not need to go up a size.  He has wide feet- so his shoes were already wide.  We take out the soles in his shoes and put in the cascade inserts.  They fit well.

I totally wasn't thinking we would take the ones out and put those in.  Peyton already has shoes that are sized wide as well, so maybe we won't have to go up a size.

    Thanks!
