A friend of mine due 3 days after me is naming her daughter this. I'm not sure what to think. Thought it'd be a fun one to get opinions on here...

As long as it isn't part of a music-themed sibset (Melody/Harmony/Aria, etc.) it doesn't offend me. NMS, but at least it's spelled correctly. Considering that there were more than 20 babies born last year named Lyrick . . .

The choir teacher at my school has a granddaughter named Lyric.  The mom's name is Harmony (choir teachers DIL) and her mom's name is Melody.  I personally don't like Lyric, but I don't mind Harmony or Melody.

I don't think it grows all that well.  And unless she decides to follow suit and become a music teacher her name won't look good on a resume.

It's a pretty word; NMS, but I think it would make a fun middle name.

I know someone who tossed this name around during her pregnancy and then, at the last minute, middle-named her daughter Lyrik...

I think its an ok name, as long as its not part of a musical sibset. I went to school with a guy named Learrick, which is pronounced the same. Weird.

This is a guilty pleasure name of mine. Personally I don't have the balls to use it as a first, so I have it in my middle name list, but it's one of my more favorite music-themed names. It also reminds of the lark and the lyre.

My god daughter, who is now 3, is named Lyric Olivia.  When I was first told the name, I was not a fan at all.  But after she was born and we met the little one, it just seemed to fit her.  Now I think it is one of the most beautiful names I've heard.  Her father is a musician, which is why they decided on that name.  But I have to say, I think it is beautiful.

This one gets a big nope from me. I can see where it might be cute with the musician father but I still can't make friends with it. MH is an artist but I'm not naming my kid Paintbrush.

I like it but my cousin named his son Lyric. Plus it's too out there for a fn (for me) and it doesn't go with ln.
