I know that you are not supposed to diet or lose weight when pregnant..and I am not..but I have always tracked my food and I am still tracking it now (to the best of my ability anways). I am not sure how much to be eating! I am more hungry than I was...and know I need to eat a little bit more. I workout at least 3 times a week (usually more). I am 5 foot 5 inches and weigh about 160lb (usually a little less). I found a calorie calculator for pregnant women, and with working out 3x week it says during the first trimester I need 2098 calories a day? Do you think this is accurate? I am used to 1500 on most days, some days it might be 1800 depending on my workout....I have been taking in between 1800-2000 and am worried its too much. I have seriously upped my skim milk and fruit consumption...but I still have some days where I just want a burger and fries.
Anybody else know how many they are consuming? The calculator changes it for 2nd and 3rd trimester to 2298 and 2488.
The website is https://www.freedieting.com/tools/pregnancy_calorie_calculator.htm
Thanks!
Re: How many calories are you consuming?
I know..I would like be around 25 lbs too....the problem I have run into is being nauseas all the time requires eating more often...so I have to reach myself to eat smaller meals...and I work late so I am working until midnite and I get up by 8 every morning...so long days to fill in with food + nasuea. I think I will try to stick to a solid 1800 a day and workouts most days of the week......

I was doing weight watchers when I got PR and havn't changed my diet. I'm eating 3 healthy meals a day plus 2 snacks of fruit. I am comfortable with what I am consuming. I will increase my calorie intake in the second tri but there is no reason that I need to eat that much more to nurish my appleseed baby. I am currently about 15lbs over weight and would like to gain about 20 pounds during the entire PR, none in the first tri, 8 in the second tri, and 12 in the third tri. We will see if this works. I havn't been to the dr yet, but everything I've read says that overweight women should gain no more then 15-20 lbs.
I've always been a grazer but never a calorie counter. I eat when I'm hungry. I stop when I'm full. It used to be fairly healthy food but this little baby loves carbs and hates vegetables. So I'm getting a little thicker than I used to be already but I'm not too worried about it, yet.
