Where do you buy clothes for yourself?

In the past year I have lost a ton of inches, but my body is shaped oddly. I have skinny legs, not a lot in the behind, but still have a pooch in the front. If it wasn't for the extra skin, I would be wearing a size smaller pant. I am having such a hard time finding jeans and work pants to fit me. Does anyone have any suggestions? I went shopping last weekend and came home with nothing because I was so frustrated!

  • I haven't tried these, but have been curious if they really fit as well as they make them seem like they should - they're supposed to still be fashionable non "mom-jeans" but help control issues like the tummy and lack of behind :)

I've had some success at Anthropologie and Ann Taylor, too... but it's more hit and miss.

True story.   Oh well, I got some perfect BKE and GAP jeans for under $10 total.

I usually go to Target, or Charlotte Russe.  **sigh**

    Congrats on the weight loss!

Oh, I shop goodwill and Savers! Sometimes, I do like a few new items, but at least if I bought used I could afford to have them tailored. I think that is what I really need to do.

  • Usually places like JCP and Kohl's, but recently I discovered the local Salvation Army store. I got a brand new Eileen Fisher sweater for $2.50 and a cashmere Talbot's sweater for $1.50. Can't beat that with a stick.

  • My best friend has the problem of skinny legs/no butt/pooch in the front and she wears low rise jeans to fix the problem. They still tend to show off the crack a lot, though! They do fit better than jeans that are a higher-rise.

  • I get a lot of my stuff at Kohl's and JcPenny but still find jeans I like and that fit me well at Old Navy and GAP.
