I am suddently feeling very nervous. My DH and I live in different states due to our jobs and I was PRAYING it would be possible to keep my job and work from home after baby is here...and move back to where im from and live with DH again.
but this week everything got all crazy,., our president was reassigned to a different office for 5 years--we don't have any idea who his replacement is and my boss's colleauge was promoted to "acting" but we already have been given the indication that he is super nervous to make any big changes even though he could be "acting" for up to a year.
to make matters worse, our boss told us yesterday that he is going to be moving out of state. for now the acting has given him permission to work from home 2-3 days a week so i guess he will be back and forth...and i guess if it gets approved it could be better for me...but either way it could set a precedent. and i certainly cant afford to commute out of state 2 days a week...arg.
i talked to boss today and he told me that he would "fight for me" but in other language made me think that he plans to be out the door pretty soon. I have this horrible feeling that he is looking for another job as we speak and as soon as he finds one hes outty.
i really wish i was french.
praying for a miracle ..
Re: anyone else not know what they will do for work after sprout is here?
Luckily I spoke to my boss prior to trying and let him know we would be trying this year and I asked about the possibility of working from home. Everything I do can be done from home with a lot let distraction, I told him I would still come in the office once a week just to get away and he said it should be fine. He told me thanks for letting him know ahead of time so he can pitch it to the higher ups, but I've been here for over 2 years and I honestly don't see any issue with me working from home.
Good luck, as long as you're able to do it and stay focused and be productive I doubt it should be a problem, maybe pitch the idea of working from home w/o telling them you're pregnant and see if they'll give you a test run, if everything runs smoothly maybe they'll let you work from home indefinitely.... In my experience it never hurts to ask the worst they can say is no...
I'm an OOW teacher... and with 3u3... I think I'll be a SAHM till the twins go to Kindergarten
When DD was 6m I went back to work FT and it was har figuring it out... and everyone always said "when you need to make it work, you will" and I thought that they were just trying to be nice... but it's ture.
