I don't think it's a "small group of e-friends". I think there are a lot of us, spread across multiple boards (IF, PAIF, & SAIF) that have been around for a while and have a sense of community. I would liken it to the sense of community that S&TTC has as well. I know that you feel that sense of community. Why would you deny us ours?

This board was created along the same lines...as a place where those of us who continue to post and support throughout our IF journey (IF/PAIF/SAIF) can be together.  And we're not just wanting this board for puppies and rainbows and penguins, as the ladies of STTTC are saying.  The community aspect has been lost on the IF board, and most of us feel like we are used for newbs and drive-bys to get the info they need on clomid or CD3 testing, and then they peace out a month later when they get a BFP.

If you want to complain about useless boards, how about Connect with Pampers and New to the Bump???

Really Mandy?  I don't understand why you care what we do.  It isn't like the time they used creating this sub board they could have used to fix ALL the other problems.  Lay off.

My understanding was that iIt was meant to be more of a meeting place where all the PAIF/SAIF/and STILL IF can come to and you don't have to worry about offending anyone that is new to the board by the preggos/kiddos coming in.

If you don't get it, then why do you feel you need to stick your nose in it.  It doesn't hurt you so mind your own biznaz.

Actually, I thought the Snarky board started out as TTC6+Months, didn't it? Then it evolved into TTC12+Months, and eventually ended up as S&TTTC. It wasn't as "exclusive" once upon a time, until those regular posters decided to make it so.

If you'd like to send me the cash to host my own message board, I'd be more than happy to do so. Until then, I guess we're all stuck here.

Yet yesterday, when a newbie posted that she and her DH were going to TTC this fall and she was excited to meet mommies (new or otherwise) and wanted a place to express her excitement about the whole process, she had her a$$ handed to her.

EVERY board gets annoyed with newbs. Most posters (incl. on the Nest and Knot) will mock them for stupid questions. But you guys are getting laughed at because you had to whine loud enough that the bump gods created your special newb-free zone, because somehow newbs on IF are SO INCREDIBLY bad that you need a "safe haven" from their scary questions.

It makes you look like a bunch of giant pansies.

Gidge...in the thread on STTTC you def weren't throwing in any kind of positive words or support for this board.  You fed right into the bashing, so not sure why the tears are there since you said you don't understand the need for this board anyway???

I post on Snarky too but am new there. I was on IF, and now PAIF. I will admit I don't get the purpose of this either. Most people who wnat their own board to stick together, maintain friendships, etc, can make a private board just as easy, if not easier. I just don't understand, especially now that some of you are implying that all are welcome even if they are from PAIF, SAIF, when just a few months ago a poll on IF was that they didn't want to see tickers, or feel like it was appropriate for people who have gotten pg to still post on IF, so is it ok on here?? I'm not trying to start anything I'm just honestly confused and can't grasp the point of it.

any board on "thebump" is never going to be a "safe place" for you. This is a public place. You don't even need a screen name to read posts.

If you truly wanted a safe place, you should've taken the time to make your own off board where you and your "community" could talk about really private, personal things without fear or repercussion.

Instead, another board was made here, which clogs down the server, which makes more work for the IT guys, and which makes random people raise their eyebrows in general. And which makes some of us desperately miss the ONYD board.

I've been on IF, and TTTC and I know how much IF blows...but this board just strikes me as nothing but cliquey (for lack of a better word).  Hopefully I am wrong, but I foresee endless posts of new members, who have been struggling even longer than some current members, being directed back to IF just because they are new.  I don't see that as improving the support within the IF community.

I don't understand the board.  Some people do and some people don't.  I get that. Obviously, there were enough people who did that the bump gods created it.

I do have trouble figuring out where I should go - I have a feeling most of the ladies I "know" from IF are going to move over here.  For that reason it makes sense that I post and lurk over here so I can continue to follow and support them.  On the other hand, I don't understand the board and for that reason think maybe the original IF board may be better.

Like I said in my other post, the 6+mo of posting doesn't work for me.  It would have made more sense to me  if it were some other criteria.  I imagine others disagree or this board wouldn't be here.

Anyway, I'll do what I want ::instert Cartman voice:: and continue to post on whatever IF board I feel like on a particular day at a particular time.... cause i'm just crazy like that

Well, the board is going to mean different things to different people, but primarily it's still an IF board and since we're not pregnant, we can't answer pregnancy questions. I would like to think that people on this board would be mindful enough to know what the subject matter was, and post relevant posts.

I can't speak for anyone offended by a ticker. Personally I am not.

There's lots of free message board sites.  Just saying.  I've been around since 2008 and I just think this is going to backfire.

I was more concerned with the actual web hosting piece than the message board itself. If we were to split off to a different site, I would want to make sure that it was a reliable one, hence the cost.

And really- all of us were going to post somewhere on some board - it certainly isn't taking up more that much more server space and adding a link to it is hardly using up IT resources!!
