I am Catholic but I don't think we are exempt - there are plenty of healthy alternatives for us.
In my bag: Nikon D90; 35mm 1.8, 90mm 2.8 macro (my fave), Lensbaby Composer with macro extensions. BFP after 13 cycles and one ectopic. Lost left tube 5/19/10.
I am Catholic and my DH and I are doing the Meatless Monday thing, so I have been looking up lots of meat free dishes! google meatless monday's and you will find a ton of good stuff!
I had an egg mcmuffin this morning even after my husband said dont eat meat....woops
I googled it and pregnant women are exempt, if i can not eat meat, i wont. but if i feel like i need to eat something with some substance then i'll eat it.
I think if you can avoid eating meat, then great, but if not, don't worry about it. Beef is one of the few things I can handle right now so I'll eat it.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!
IVF #1 - BFP (6dt)
Unassisted Pregnancy #2 - lost at 15w6d due to T21, severe heart defects, and fetal hydrops
Pregnant women are exempt from fasting or abstaining based on need. Meaning if you NEED to eat you can eat if you NEED to eat meat you can eat meat. Otherwise you should do your best to abide.
I have heard it both ways so I don't know what to think. I am going to try to abstain but am generally just interested in the answer. Thanks ladies!
I asked my priest last pregnancy. He said I am exempt from fasting and if I had a diet ( such as my current GD diet) that requires a lot of protein beyond the fish allowed then I would be exempt from abstaining too.

Have you considered asking your priest at church?
I am going to but I haven't had the opportunity since I just found out this weekend. Thanks!
I forgot it was Wednesday and had bacon at breakfast. Oh well.

Bacon?!? What are you nuts? No bacon!
I ate Chicken for lunch. Ooops as well.
I clearly don't love my fetus.
And I had chicken for lunch, too. I figured I was already boned from the bacon at breakfast.

I heart bacon and will not go without on my egg sandwich. I am selfish.
Ha, me too!! It was on my supreme croissant from Jack.
I also talked with my sis who is more Catholic than I am. According to her, we are exempt from the no meat and fasting.
