Anyone in the Carlisle area?

We are moving there in July (from the Lehigh Valley).

I don't even know what specifically I'm looking for by asking here...

What kinds of toddler activities have you found? Mom's groups / playgroups?

We will be buying a house... any neighborhoods or areas to start looking?

Overwhelmed! We just moved from TX to PA in August! Ugh!

Wow.   There is a West Shore Mom's Club.  If you PM me your address, I can have the membership chic send you some info.  I am like 15 min from Carlisle so I don't know neighborhoods down there but I live in Hampden Twp.  I'm actually in Enola but a lot of it is in Mechanicsburg and we're in the Cumberland Valley School District which is a very good (and very large) district.  There's a great place by the Capital City Mall - the closest full mall to Carlisle  (there are a few good strip malls down there) called Monkey Joe's that's full of different bounce houses & slides.  Lots of fun for the kids...they do have a few that are for little ones only.  If it's not too personal,  if you tell us your housing budget and any things you may be looking for we may be able to help more more.

I was born and raised in Carlisle.  I'm actually living in the same set of town homes I grew up in...two doors down from the very house!  There are many nice neighbor hoods in the area.  If you don't mind me asking, what kind of neighborhood are you looking for?  In town? A bit more out of town?  Country? 

I don't know much of mom's and play ground groups.  My friends and I are mostly pregnant or have babies under 1.   

I love this area.  I'm so happy I can raise my daughter here.

DH will be going to law school at PSU (Dickinson) right in Carlisle so ideally we'd be right in town to be close.
