Goodmorning All :-) I was reading through some old posts and saw your recommendation for the book Pregnancy Week By Week, so I will buy that soon in hope of answering some of my questions. Just a quick one here though, should I still be temping every AM as I am still very early in my pregnancy and should be watching for any changes? Is this something that you did? Thanks and have a great day :-)
Re: Quick Question...
Honestly, my pregnancy was an accident... and I didn't find out until i was 7.5 weeks in.
So I didn't do anything special other than feel like crap and not know why
Step away from the BBT! You will only drive yourself crazy. As for the book, I haven't read that one but since I'm having twins I have been sticking to books about multiple prgnancies. GL!!!
I stopped temping as soon as I got my BFP. If your temp drops, you're just going to freak out thinking you are miscarrying even if you aren't. Why put yourself through that?
I was on TP patrol though! LOL! I inspected the toilet paper every time I went to the bathroom for any sign of blood. (In all honesty, I still look out of habit.)
Thanks for the advice - I can sleep in for a bit longer. YAY!
Congratulations to you!
That's a GREAT book.. but don't let it scare you.. it has so much information.. almost too much.. and lots of the scary-what-can-go-wrong kind of information. It does, however have great info on the weekly development, which is so neat to think of the miracle developing inside of you.
Never did temping.. don't know what that is all about.. your pregnant.. try to relax and enjoy it.. and take care of yourself.. take your vitamins and make your first OB appt.
and welcome to the board.
Yes, welcome and congrats! Ditto on Pregnancy Week by Week. I had actually heard more cautions about What to Expect When You're Expecting (along the same lines regarding the focus on stuff that can go wrong), but I am finding, having both books, that at this point I am getting more out of What to Expect. That said, Your Pregnancy Week By Week was my bible for the first half of the pregnancy, very useful info!
Previous posters' advice about temping is spot on --- stop if you haven't already. I will admit though that I was one of those folks who just couldn't let it go, and I temped for a few weeks. I was lucky my temps stayed up, so I didn't freak myself out, but eventually somehow I got distracted from it... sleeping in is such a nice treat!
