Cloth Diapering

Night-time diapers (at the end of my rope)

I have tried:

Goodmamas with wool: even changing 2x, I get leaks

Goodmamas with wraps under wool: bulky, still have to change, and rash

Goodmamas with fleece liners with wraps: bulky, rash

RaR stuffed pockets with 1 MF insert and an AFFF insert: leaks, bulky, still have to change

kawaii double stuffed pockets: hella bulky (my baby's legs were up in the air!) and leaks

kawaii regular stuffed pockets under wool: still bulky, but no leaks This has been the best option so far, but the insert is DRIPPING when I pick it up, so I don't know how nice it is for the baby?

and disposables:  sometimes she makes it, sometimes it leaks. depends on teh brand.

I'm ready to give up on the fitteds. They don't seem all that absorbent and i don't know if I like my baby feeling wet all night. I guess she's just an EXTREMELY heavy wetter?

Re: Night-time diapers (at the end of my rope)

  • I've tried the Sbish snapless with a wool cover last night, and it worked fantastic even with a night feeding session. Outer layer was still only slightly damp, so I think she could have gone for another!  I don't have my AFFF inserts yet, but I plan to use 1 AFFF with Sbish in the future and see if she can go for longer!

Good luck finding your night combo!  :)

  • I have been having a lot of hte same issues (We were leaking out of BG stuffed with MF and 2 AFFFs).  So far GM good.night has worked well - we have only tried it 2x as we only have one and it took forever to prep. I used it with a WCW soaker and we made it about 12 hours with a slight damp feeling.  I also use a fleece liner.  I will prob add an AFFF to it to make it hopefully completely dry as we bedshare a lot and I don't like feeling any dampness that might happen.  It's worth a shot, this has been the only thing that has worked so far.

  • I have a heavy nightime wetter, too.  I was using NNHeavy Duty fitteds at night and I didn't like the feeling of her being wet, either.  Plus, she was soaked and couldn't make it through the last few hours.  We just recently tried a combo of the insert of a pocket (so far FB and the Kawaii that was too big for daytime but perfect when stuffed for nightime) we were using plus a Cotton Babies MF insert w/ a Hemp Babies Little Weeds wrapped around the two.  We've been leak-free for 4 nights now!

ETA: I throw a wool cover on JIC but it hasn't even been damp.

  • That could be frustrating. Ever since I started supplementing with formula she's been a super wetter. She usually takes a bottle before her bath, then breastfeeds and takes a feeding around midnight.

We have stuck with the sbish snapless (which can really be stuffed with doublers for absorbency). Other things we've done is re-lanolizing our wool. Sometimes I use a thinner wool soaker under wool footies. Good luck!

  • Thanks for the recs, guys! I can try the little weeds soaker -- it's not in my budget to buy more fitteds at the moment, or I'd try SBish. I've lanolized a few times, but I'm not having much luck with my wool. I use a ton of lanolin, too!

I guess part of the problem is the bulk. I don't want it to be TOO hard on her, especially now she's rolling. And she's long and lean so fluffy butt is REALLY fluffy.
