Do you receive a sheet at the end of the day giving info about how LO did that day? If so, what info do they include? Are they consistent in providing the information daily?DS started daycare three weeks ago. It's a brand new daycare and he was the first in the infant room. For the first two weeks we received a sheet each day telling how much formula he ate, how much of his solid food, times he napped, times his diaper was changed and if it was wet or a BM, his favorite toy that day, and if we need to bring in anything the next day (like they need more of his diapers). However, about a week ago they stopped providing these. They stopped at the same time that the infant room filled up (four babies and one teacher). At first we thought that it was just an adjustment for the teacher and they would start again, but now that it's been a week I'm kind of bothered by this. I think it's important for us to know at least some of the info, like how much he ate and when he napped.I sent an email to the center asking if they will resume these sheets, but am just curious if this is standard at most centers.
Re: Question about daycare
Well, DD is 14 months (her center starts at a year old) so it's a bit different. We get a daily newsletter emailed with photos from the day and what they did, so we get to see all of her activities (it's also great to see how much fun she's having!).
In terms of naps, they have a white board where they write down nap start and end times--but all kids go down for one nap at the same time following lunch. Snacks/lunch are at the same times every day, so there's no need for them to track that. We send cloth diapers, so we know how many times she's changed based off what we bring home. They also have a record of poop diapers.

Life is good!
Hello Fellow Atlanta Mom,
My baby's daycare provides a sheet that lets me know how much he eats, diapers (wet and muddy) naps, supplies he needs and comment section for any other messages. I also get to view him online so I can see how he's doing. I would definatley speak to the office manager or supervisor about the sheets. It's hard to work all day without LO and it give great comfort (at least for me) to know how his day went.
We get a sheet with when and how much he ate, his diaper changes, and the times he napped. The head teacher usually adds a generic note about what they did today (i.e. we read about farm animals today), which I think is a nice touch.
I would mention it to the teacher. Don't be afraid to ask for the sheet if it's important to you. I know I would want one.
My DC has the daily infant sheets.
I have to fill in some info when I drop Parker off--last time she ate, what time she went to bed and woke up, if she had a poopy diaper in the AM, and any general info I want the teachers to know. Throughout the day they fill in when she ate, when she napped, if she had a poopy or wet diaper, if they applied diaper cream, and they fill in info they want me to know.
I hope that they start using the sheets again! The control freak in me would go nuts not knowing what was going on during the day!
I have a Parker too!
Do you use Kindercare? That sounds like their sheets although I would imagine many centers use similar ones... For Parker, I fill in his wake up time and last feeding time and any special requests. They fill in each time he eats and how much, diaper changes, napping and any notes from the day. Once my older son went into the 2 yr old room, I no longer started his day form but he still gets one filled out by the teacher - it's less detailed but includes what he ate, his bathroom visits/diaper changes, and whether he napped as well as any special notes. Both forms have a section for the teacher to tell if any supplies are needed.
I would point blank ask why the forms aren't being used anymore. With an infant, I need to know the daily eating/napping/bathroom activities in order to "pick up where they left off" so to speak.
Just wanted to say Hi to you! I used to work at Creme de la Creme ages ago, and we had those sheets everyday in the baby rooms.
Hope you are doing well. Can I assume you have a new job? I hope it has a shorter commute.
That's strange. It seems like they would at least give you something (like if they ran out of the sheets, they should at least still give you a basic rundown of when he last ate, napped and was changed).
Ours has always given us a daily sheet. When he was in the infant rooms, it just included the times he ate, how much he ate (and what he ate once he started solids), when he napped and for how long and the times he was changed and whether or not it was a BM or just a wet diaper. Also, any items that I need to bring more of (diapers, wipes, extra clothes). There is also a place for extra comments from the teacher at the bottom.
His toddler daily sheet includes all of the above, plus the activities he did that day.

Day Three
Our daycare has a 5:1 teacher to infant ratio, and they still take the time to fill out a similar form. I get a tally of wet and dirty diapers, feeding times and how much he ate at each time, nap times and length, a description of his mood for the day, and a section where they leave notes for us.
I personally would inquire as to why they stopped and ask them to keep track of the info for you.
DD is almost 3 & still gets one. When she was an infant they'd tape them to the cabinet where they kept the formula & baby food. So they always had it available to write on. At the end of the day when I'd get her bottles out of the cabinet I took the sheet.
She still gets one w/ what she ate, when she peed or pooped, if she went on the potty, what she did, projects, books read, toys played with & any special notes like, needs more pull-ups. There are some days we don't get one though. They might have been supper busy with other events.
I'd be a bit put off it stopped all of a sudden as well. Hope they get it worked out.
