Just introducing myself :)

On March 1, 2011, I graduated from the high risk bed rest board to the preemie board.  My beautiful little girl, Dakota Kaitlyn, was born at 11:15 am at 32 weeks 6 days gestation.  She was 17 3/4 inches long and weighed in at 5lbs 1oz.  Dakota is doing wonderful, but it is really hard because she is still at the hospital right now.  She graduated yesterday from the NICU to the Special Care nursery and just moved into an open crib tonight.  We are just working on her being able to bottle or breast feed so we can get her home.

Dakota was born via emergency c-section because I went into labor and she was breach.  I was actually scheduled to have a c-section tomorrow lol!  She just wanted to choose her own birthday.

I sure hope I learn a lot from you all on this board.  This is my last child and I have never had a preemie before, so I am a little lost and feeling very anxious because this entire experience has been so different from my other children.

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. She's a great size for 32 weeks. I hope you stick around and ask tons of questions. Praying for a short NICU stay. Please keep us posted.
