(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 13 months and 2 weeks old(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?Chicken pox have passed and Libby was in a WAY better mood. Still cutting those molars though, which makes her cranky in the evenings. I am away from her for the first time...day 1 of 5...it's tough...thankfully I'm super busy! (3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?15 months (so in May) and more shots! (4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?Being away....also preparing to be away...I had to pump as much milk as I could to leave in the fridge for her this past week because she refuses to take any previously frozen BM. She's also not keen on cow's milk. So, I left her with 40 oz. of my milk in the fridge and told J and my mom to offer her water throughout the day as well. And, well, if they run out of my milk, maybe she'll be more "convinced" to try cow's milk. *sigh*Also, I am pumping 4-5 times/day while I am away which is 3-4 times more than I've ever done! My goal is to maintain supply, but I hope to be able to bring back all my milk to give to the donor mom who needs it. With my excess lipase issues it's a HUGE pain to do it (I brought a hot pot to scald all the milk I pump, then cool it in the mini-fridge in the hotel room and then transfer into storage bags. They'll go into ziploc gallon sized bags and into my insulated cooler (shoulder bag size) and hopefully get through TSA with gallon bags filled with ice (Robbi suggested this). If I do manage to get this milk back home I will deliver it directly to the adoptive mom. Her baby sucks down BM bottles 8 oz. at a time! I am amazed since Libby's never taken more than 3 oz. of my milk at any one time.(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age?Yes. At least one more pregnancy, hopefully this year. We would like our children to be 24-30 months apart in age. We will TTC#2 at the end of summer. (6) What's your favorite gift you've received for LO? (I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!)Love our Cloud B Twillight Turtle. (1) What week are you in/how old is your LO? 10.5 months.
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? Dash is working on his freestanding. Will is drinking from a straw cup (Dash just looks at it suspiciously and wants his regular sippy cups back).
(3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Next Monday - tongue ties getting snipped!
(4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? Night waking. For some reason Will has started waking up in the wee hours wanting a bottle (as in screaming until he gets one and won't be coaxed by the paci so he's genuinely hungry). Someone told me there's a 10 month growth spurt so it might be that...I'm hoping so!
(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age? Nope. No. Nada. Never. If we'd only had one, we'd probably consider a second about 2 years apart (this is the space between my sister and myself and I think it's a good age gap). But we don't want more than 2 kids...
(6) What's your favorite gift you've received for LO? (I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!) Hmm. Most of my favorite stuff is actually things that we bought for them ourselves. Gifts...... From my point of view? Probably the FP Newborn to Toddler Rocker. We used them for naps up until they were about 6 months old (also, that link makes me sob - I saw them in a store here the other day and realized that MIL spent $120 EACH on them! Over double the USA cost!). From their point of view? Where Is The Green Sheep. They love it. LOVE.  And I have to admit it's a pretty great book!

(8) What diaper bag do you use? Any suggestions for 2u2? Skip Hop Studio. Plenty of room for all my twin gear, plus it's very stylish (I don't mind carrying it as a regular purse). It's also really well organized - I found that a lot of the larger bags were basically just big totes with only one or two compartments, but this has a pocket for everything. The straps are also comfy and it's a good length to carry from your shoulder when you don't want to use the stroller straps. Can you tell I love it? (9) We're out of questions again! What other questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?
Do you post photos of your LO online? Why/why not? (I respect that some people are sensitive to their LO's face appearing online - am curious to know how many feel this way.)Did you do/are you planning on doing anything special to help your pets adapt to life with a baby? (2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?  Tired and done as always!  I'm very uncomfortable these days.  Although I have less than a month left, it seems so far away!

(3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?  I go for my measurement ultrasound tomorrow along with my weekly appointment where I get my GBS test done, ick!

(4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?  Getting sleep!  I see every hour on the clock!  Also, trying to be comfortable thought the day/night because my back hurts all the time.  It almost feels like it is bruised at the should blade, it's weird.

(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age?  I'm not sure.  I guess this is better answered for me after this LO   I would like to have two, but MH has a daughter already so I'm on the fence.  MH wants another one though, I just don't know if I want to be preggo again.  IF we do, it will be w/in 2 years from now.

(6) What's your favorite gift you've received for LO? (I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!)  Our Twilight Turtle, it matches the room perfectly and this cute little argyle sweater w/ courderoy pants...it is the cutest outfit!

(8) What diaper bag do you use? Any suggestions for 2u2?  We have the Skip Hop Messenger Bag.  I wanted the one that looks like a purse but MH wasn't going for it.  I gave him a handful of Skip Hop choices and he made the final decision since for some reason he was so concerned with this.  Not sure why.  The purse bag was still black so it was still manly! LOL

What other questions would you like to see in upcoming check-ins?  For BF mama's, what/is did your diet consist of throught your BF days to make sure you produce enough and provide all the right nutrients to your LO?  I feel very overwhelmed right now even thinking about this at the moment.

(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share? We've got the first tooth, and are just cutting the second, too.  That actually happened two weeks ago, but I kind of forgot about it in all the sickness!
(3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up? Monday to follow up about the bronchiolitis, and hopefully get off the nebulizer!
(4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week? The nebulizer.  He haaaaaates it!  I have to do it every 4-6 hours while awake, so basically three times a day.  He cries, and I feel bad, but we gotta do it!
(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age? Yes, I'd like to have one more.  Ideally, I'm hoping for a second child to be born when Henry is between 2.5 and 3 years old.  We'll see!
(6) What's your favorite gift you've received for LO? (I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!) The vast majority of the gifts we received were clothes, but the best gift had to be from my ILs, who gave us all the nursery furniture as a gift.  It was such a blessing, so that we could have fun buying the other things wee needed without worrying so much.  That and my breast pump, which some of my aunts got together and got me....so generous!

I've got a Storksak Aubrey Messenger Bag.  I like it, but sometimes it's a little too narrow on the inside when all of the outside pockets are full.  I'm looking at a different bag right now, perhaps either this or this.  Anyone have either of those and have any thoughts?

Bella is just over 19 months

(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?

Bella's just starting to put 2 words together. Birth to 3 (a program here for kids) is coming tomorrow to help us help her learn how to do things with her one hand... she REALLY is independent and does NOT want us putting on her shoes, socks, coat, you name it! She wants to do EVERYTHING herself!

I'm feeling GIANT and pregnant I can't believe I've made it this far. I posted my update but I'm 1-2 and 50% effaced but the LG hasn't dropped yet.

(3) Next appointment date?  Any big ultrasounds/other exciting stuff coming up?

She doesn't have another appt until 2 yrs and I have another appt enxt week Wednesday, if I make it that far I wanted it later in the week but I'm scheduled to work so I had to take Wed.

(4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?

Bella's started every once in awhile throwing fits. It's happened about 3 times now and it's weird to deal with... I'm not sure what the best action is. Our pedi said we could start time outs (or we should start them) by 18 months but that still seems too young too me.

My biggest challenge, the waiting game! Wondering when G will make his appearance into the world. He's also been having his head rest on my bladder so I go to pee and only a few drops come out!

(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age?

Well we're almost to 2u2 We're up in the air about having 3 or 4 kids. We'll start TTC again when Grayson is one, yep can you believe we've already talked about it?!

I have some blocks that our friends made for Bella and I LOVE them, they are mahogony and have the letters of her name. They are so cute. I love practical gifts too but it seemed like we didn't get many of those. People went crazy with her and bought tons of clothes (too many!)

MH started time outs with LB a couple months ago.  He will put him in the crib and close the door.  We leave him in there for 60 seconds.  Works like a charm.  Even the "threat" of timeout usually makes him listen!  We tell him why he's going in (even over the screaming), and when he's done, we tell him again and then kiss and hug and then continue our day. 

(MH did this out of desperation one day when he went to change a very messy diaper which had alot of volume, shall we say.  Before he even got it off LB, he started turning over and flailing and not wanting to be on his back.  MH didn't know what to do so he did this as a way to cool himself down and leave LB in a safe place.)

(I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!)  I like that the grandparents keep buying clothes so I dont' have to work so hard at keeping track of what we have!   I got the exersaucer from my work shower and that was awesome b/c we got so much use out of it!

(7) What are your five favorite baby websites (any kind - blogs, forums, shopping, developmental info, etc.)?  here, BabyBargains, Bargainist, BabyCheapskate, I like my local nest board to get me out of baby mode and realize I'm a seaparate person too!

(8) What diaper bag do you use? Any suggestions for 2u2?  The Skip Hop Duo I think?  I like that you can clip it onto the stroller on both sides, but like pp, when the side pockets are full, the middle becomes too narrow.

oh thank you for posting this, sandy! i had tried time out before but it wasn't very effective but she was younger so maybe it will work better now, esp w/the tips you posted (we didn't tell her what we were doing we just did it)

i have tried speaking to her calmly and telling her that she needs to calm down and that i can't understand her when she screams like that...then i'll let her scream until she will accept a hug (when she's not ready she'll flail her arms and say "no!! no!!") and once she's let her steam out and hugs me she'll putter off and calm down and sniffle for a few minutes and then it's like nothing happened..... but i hope we can get the time outs to work like you have. i have heard you can do time outs for the same # of minutes as their age. so like you are doing, 1 minute for a 1 year old.

(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?she is getting her 6th tooth in! it's amazing that she is such a good teether - she doesn't get cranky or anything. just very drooly and puts everything in her mouth!she started saying grandma this week so there are 2 very happy grandmothers now other new words - couple, shoulders, goat, ham, PJs, car, hat, rock, smooth, rough (and no she did not say ham after we gave her some to eat - we called her a "ham" and she repeated it back LOL)
it's been 6 wks since she started saying "poo poo" and to date she has only pooped in her diaper 2x w/o telling us.  once was when we were traveling from PR back (we were in the airport) and another time was w/the sitter so i'm not sure why she did that....but since it's only been 2x, and she is really good about telling me when she has to poop now, i am going to consider her pretty much poo poo trained LOL now i just need to get her pee pee trained   she has never been a baby that minds being wet so i have to try to "train" her now to want to be dry and complain when she is wet. i'm considering just having her go coverless so i can change her ASAP when we have a "miss" and she is wet.

(4) What's been your greatest BR challenge this past week?temper tantrums! in the last few weeks she has had a few but lately it seems like it is happening more and more often!! it is a totally different kind of cry and part of me just wants to laugh at her and part of me feels bad that she is so mad/frustrated. esp when she finally stops and does that puttering where it sounds like she is having trouble breathing (but really isn't).  and it's the dumbest things that will set her off! like not wanting me to put a new diaper on her, or not wanting to get off the potty (she wants to stay on it and read), or not wanting to be put in her high chair for meal time.  i feel like she is going through the terrible 2's early and i hope this phase ends soon. hopefully i can use the tips posted above re: time outs to get her to stop.
(5) Do you plan to have more children? If so, how far apart in age?the jury is still out on this but i think i want one more.  i think 2-3 yrs apart. right now they'd be 2 yrs apart so part of me wants to start TTC again immediately and part of me wants to wait.  i keep thinking "of course" i want another and then other times i feel like i would be totally happy/content with just my baby girl.

(I asked this before, and I think we used it, but I don't remember any of the answers!)i think my favorite gift was the my brest friend nursing pillow. i got it after i had been using the boppy for about a week and it was just so much easier for me! i used it daily for about 5-6 wks until we switch to nursing in bed.

(1) What week are you in/how old is your LO?9.5mo
(2) How are you feeling? Any new milestones or news in the last week to share?Good! Since a couple of weeks ago, he started to consistently clap on demand if we say "clap your hands". He's also learning how to wave "bye-bye" but he doesn't do it very consistently so we're still working with him on it. Last week, he started to stand w/o assistance without anyone's prompting and he will free-stand for at least a minute or two and do things like clap, fold both his hands together, and "drum" on random things like boxes and the turtle tank. He's also started to take a few steps without assistance, but only in between going from holding onto one thing to another so he's only willing to take 2-3 steps without holding anything. Oh, and he's *finally* starting to cut his very first tooth! There were no warning signs either (he slept normally, no temperature, etc). Just one morning, I was checking his gums (cuz I do it every once in a while) and there was a little white tip of a tooth poking out!
