Anyone actually have a learning tower? Pros/cons to it? I'm a bit worried about the size, but we have room in the dining room where it can also be used for play. I'm looking at ordering it from costco.com.
Best place to buy brio/thomas train stuff? We are thinking of getting a starter set soon.
How do you corral the toys in the family room? We have open floor plan from kitchen/eating area/family room, so a lot of Emily's toys are down here, but they are slowly expanding ![]()
Any recommendations for a potty seat?
Thanks!
Theresa
Re: a couple random toy/gear questions...
The only ? I can answer is #3. We have 1 basket (about 12 by 16in) with toys and a push toy downstairs. We really didn't want to be tripping over toys all the time so we decided to keep most everything upstairs. Each week I'll rotate what toys are in the bin since Ella only plays with a couple things in there most of the time anyway. It's nice because it only takes 1 minute to clean everything up and the house doesn't look like a daycare!
We use plastic tubs. Usually 1 tub at a time in front room and one has to be picked up before we get a new one.
Potty seat Bjourn. Good for boys & girls. We have the potty and the seat that sits on the toilet.
My friend has the learning tower and loves it. We have a step stool, there isn't enough room for the tower.
I can't say for the trains. We just bought the knock off versions. We have a Costco train table that is 9 years old and is still going strong.
For toys we have a basket for baby toys and for other toys we have 2 Ikea ottomans with storage.
For potty seat we have the small Bjorn and then one of those folding travel seats.
Learning tower - no we don't have one. Is this the thing you stand on to help in the kitchen? If so, I never saw the need. Ben just stood on a chair.
Pretty much all wooden train tracks work together. I'd suggest not buying the Brio or Thomas brands because they're the most expensive. The tracks from IKEA work with those systems, and they're cheap. And TRU has some other brands that also work. Also, craigslist!
Family room. We have a wooden toy box, and a big fabric clothes basket thing that a lot of toys are in. We got a three drawer plastic thing to hold all of the little crap like cars and figures and stuff. Then we have a cabinet in the entertainment center that we store bigger cars in. But really, we have toys that are out and everywhere all the time. I figure my stuff's around and accesssible, so why shouldn't my kids stuff be accessible for them? THey live here too.
Baby Bjorn potty seat is what we liked. Ben never liked the seats you put on top of the toilet.
