Toddlers: 24 Months+

Disney World question

Posted this on my local board but thought I might try here too.  We just booked our Disney trip for this Spring Big Smile and I would like to do a Character Dining experience.  If you have done these, which do you think are the best for toddlers?

 TIA!!

Re: Disney World question

  • Princess Breakfast at Norway!  Totally worth the money and not having to stand in line for the princesses in the parks.

We just did it in Jan with our daughter and she loved it!  I will admit, we did too.  It is nice because they have a cold area where you get your cold stuff (yogurt, danish, fruit) and then they bring all you can eat hot food to your table.  Very nice with a toddler!

    Enjoy :)

  • What characters are your LO's favorite?

My DD LOVES Little Einsteins and Special Agent Oso so we've done the Hollywood & Vine breakfast twice, she loves it.  She's gotten tons of solo dance time w/ both the Einsteins and Oso.  Handy Manny is also at the breakfast.

We've also enjoyed Chef Mickey & Tusker House for the main Disney five (although no Mickey at Tusker, but they do have Daisy!) At CM, the later the reservation, the better the character interaction - they have more time when the restaurant clears out.

We've done Crystal Palace twice (Pooh & friends) and both times food was good but character interaction was terrible.  They barely stopped for pictures and autographs.  Super rushed.

We did dinner at Akershus (Norway).  The princesses were great and took tons of time to interact.  The food was a little too different for my taste.  I'd definitely go back and try breakfast though.

  • I haven't gone yet (we are going in June) but we are going to breakfast at 1900 Park Fare at the Grandfloridian. They have Alice in wonderland, Mary Poppins and winnie the pooh. My DD likes all the characters, and I was hoping it would be a little less crazy then in the park. Good luck, I am curious to see what others say.

I agree with this.  We took our daughter her, along with 3 other character dining places.  This and Chef Mickey's were her favorite.  It was one of the best meals I've had at Disney (but I'm a pretty picky eater).  You also get a picture when you first walk in with one of the princess' and it is yours to take home, not like at Chef Mickey's where they want you to pay for the picture with a statue of Mickey.
