We are pretty much set on this for our daughter, but since deciding, I feel like I'm hearing/reading it all over the place now. Is it the new trendy name and I'm out of the loop? We're also struggling to agree on a middle name. Any suggestions?
Altho I see it posted here a lot, IRL I don't know a single person who named their daughter that. Other than myself Brynne is my MN and I absolutely love it FWIW.
For MN's how about
Brynn Elisabeth or Brynn Isabella?

It's a nice name but I do feel like I see it mentioned about 10 times per day on this board. I think reality show Bethanny named her daughter Brynn, which might have to do with the recent popularity.

I grew up with a Brynn, she's 31. So I don't think its a new trend, but still a nice name. I agree it may have picked up a bit from the reality star using the name. I'd use it if you like it.
I teach a girl named Brynn. She's 15, so it's not like it is new. I really like it. Her middle name is Penney, but I wouldn't suggest going there with it!

I usually don't care for many trendy names, but I actually like this one. I think it's short, simple, and sweet. I'd pair it with a long, classic middle name like Elizabeth, Katherine, Isabelle, Josephine.
I don't know any Brynn's IRL yet, but it doesn't surprise me that it's on the rise after seeing it on here so much. I do know one Brena though (pronounced "Brynna"...I don't know what they were thinking by spelling it Brena).
I, too, only know one Brynn, and she's in middle school. You do see it mentioned on thebump, but I don't know any others in real life.
For the middle name, I think it should be at least two syllables and very feminine.
Brynn Olivia
Brynn Caroline
Brynn Sophia
come to mind. What middle names have you tossed around?
We think alike! We have been playing with Sofia (either spelling), Olivia, Eliza, Delaney, Josephine. I thought either a 2 or 3 syllable name would sound best. When I yell at my son, he knows I'm serious when I call him Nolan Matthew...haha, I need something with some oomph for when she's in trouble.
Are you hearing it all over the place where you live and in your circles or on here? I had a student named Brynn several years ago and she's the only one I've ever known IRL. I've loved that name ever since. Great choice! I like Brynn Elise.
Brynn Amelia was my #1 name choice, but DH is refusing to consider it. I do see it on here quite a bit, but don't see it IRL at all. It's ranked somewhere in the 250's for popularity, I believe...which to me does not = trendy. Brynn is nowhere near the likes of Addison or Kaylee.
I do, however, think it will see a spike in popularity due to Bethenny Frankel (sp?) naming her daughter this about a year ago. It always seems celebrities tend to have an effect on naming.
I don't know if it's really popular as I have never met anyone IRL named Bryn/Brynn, but I do know that Bethenny Frankel (from the show Bethenny Ever After) and her husband more recently named their daughter Bryn. I believe it was after her husband's brother who died who was named Brian. So maybe that might have something to do with it being more prevalent too.
I agree with PP - BRI names are popular right now (Brielle, Brianna, Brynn etc.), but you have an obviously feminine choice, it's spelled correctly and it's easy to say. So I guess it comes down to how much does popularity matter to you?
Oh, and I totally second mj's middle name link - I spent a good month doing the research for it, so it's chocked full of good stuff.
With a one-syllable first name, I'd take the opportunity to play with a longer middle, and if Brynn is as popular as we say it is, I'd go with a much less popular middle. (I will say that almost every Brynn that comes up on here seems to default to Brynn Elizabeth/Elisabeth - just a heads up).
I love it! I don't know anyone IRL with that name.

Trendy? Yes.
But, I still like it.
I would say for the middle name, go with 2 syllables. Maybe somethng that ends in an vowel.
BFP #3 via cancelled IUI ~ C (2lb 3oz; HELLP) 5/16/11
BFP #4 via the natural (free!) way ~ E (8lb 11oz) 9/13/12
this
I'm confused. I think Brynn is a very nice name and to me it sounds like a girl name but I have only known a boy named Brynn.
If it is trendy than it is a recent trend because I haven't met one yet other than that boy.

Brynn is my LOVE to HATE name. I can't stand it.
Since it is really trendy right now, and has a very similar male counterpart, I would pair it with something very feminine and classic.
Brynn Elizabeth
Brynn Josephine
Brynn Emilia
I love PP's suggestion of Brynn Isabella

It's a Welsh name - Bryn is the masculine spelling and Brynn is the feminine.

All this said, I know more Briannes and Briannas in my area whereas I only know one Brielle (child) and no Brynns.

My mother in law has been talking about this name for a girl since we started ttc. ...I think she said it was a name from a Soap Opera she watches...
I wont be using it, so there is one less for you to worry about. Lol!
