Military Moms?

Hi there,  are there any military moms here?  Does anyone have any info/advice about care and delivery at Ireland on Ft Knox?  I'm having a hard time getting my referal approved and may have to be seen there.

Curious!

  • My friend delivered there 6 months ago, the only care issue she had there was that the epidural took two attempts to work correctly. She said the doctors and nurses were good with her, and she didn't really have any after care issues either. I don't know much about how they work (if it's different than a civilian hospital) but if you have specific questions I'll see if she can give you some good advice on them!

  • Thanks Elsker,  I got my referal to a civilian provider.  I'm so glad!

  • Ireland is a JOKE! I am 24 weeks almost 25 and they never once told me I was high risk. I went there on a Sunday to be seen because I was having very serious symptoms of something serious and they didn't run one single test on me. I got treated so rudely too. It killed them to get off their lazy behinds for 20 minutes to see me. After doing NO test and telling me nothing was wrong, I got mad and switched myself to Tricare Standard. I made a appt with a doc in Etown who then told me he couldn't see me because I was high risk... something Ireland never told me. So, he sent me to see a high rosk doc in Louisville. Now I am going to U Of L which is a little bit of a drive but my safety and my babies are more important then a few extra driving miles. Now I see a REAL doctor who loves their job and knows what they are doing.

Thats just my horror story, but I know so many other people with their own about Ireland.
