1st appt

First appointment was yesterday, and I'm disappointed. I was 6 weeks 3 days and they told me they'd do an ultrasound. After a very LONG minute of my doc looking around and not saying anything,  I was about to freak. She did find the amniotic sac, along with the yolk sac....but she said that I'm measuring small, more like 5 weeks. So therefore we didnt see a heartbeat. She didnt say to worry, she said everything looked ok, just too early. But I am still worried. We havent told our families yet and I asked her what I should do. She wanted to see me back in 2 weeks for another ultrasound, because she said she was confident that we'd see the heartbeat at 7 weeks, and to wait until then. I'm still contemplating telling my parents this weekend.....if something were to happen, I think Id definitely need to cry to my mom. So now I have to wait another 2 weeks to know everything is ok....its going to be a long one, I think!

The waiting game is always wicked tough... that being said, are you sure what day you conceived?  any chance you could have miscalculated and you are really right on track just a week behind?  Good luck and I hope the 2 weeks go by quickly!

I'm sure everything's fine. My first u/s, they told me I was somewhere between 4 and 5 weeks, which was a little behind but I wasn't sure when my LMP was, so I was like ok. I went 3 weeks later for my first appt. and was at 9 weeks, which was where I was supposed to be. Sometimes babies just grow a little slow at certain points. Chill.

This very thing happened to me.  It was just to early, I know it is easier to say than to do, but don't worry!  Everything was fine at my 2nd appointment.  You may just be a late ovulater like me
