I wouldn't do this. It's going to sound like the same name, so if people are going to get confused, it will still happen. Either make the kid a third or pick a new name.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

If you want him to have a different name, give him a different name. Changing I to Y doesn't make it different, it just makes it speshul. It may help avoid some mixups, but it will create others to compensate.
If you want a third, go with Willis Aidan. If you want to honor the family without using the actual name, try Aidan Willis or use one of those names as a mn.
Wyllis doesn't look like Willis to me on first glance. When I saw it I wanted to say Why-lis. If you want your son's name not to get mixed up with your DH's, give him a different but similar name (William, Wallace) or reverse the first & middle names (Aidan Willis - which I like better despite the popularity issue).
I'm not a fan of your spellings. I think making up new spellings usually turns out bad. The traditional spellings look much better... if you don't like them, I would choose a different name.

Oh God. Those are horrible. Jumping on the oh-so-popular "y" bandwagon isn't going to make the name really all that different or unique. When the name is SPOKEN, it's going to sound exactly the same.
"Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." ~Benjamin Franklin
Love it! They could definitely still be a third. The more youneek the better. Don't want them to be the 25th Aidan in the class.
(Please note sarcasm, as you asked not to take you seriously if you came on this board)
Like Fiona isn't a popular name? Shrek anybody?
Seriously, get over yourself.
Ahhh the old "you don't like my stupid made up name so I'm going to make fun of your child that is already (really well) named" trick. Love it. So classy.

Woah, woah, woah. Making fun of a little girl? That's pathetically low.
You're fake name choices are barely entertaining.
At least spell it Wylyz Aydyn.
I didn't make fun a little girl - she didn't choose the name. And all I was doing was saying Fiona was ALSO a popular name (like Aidan). Not knocking, not saying it was terrible, not picking on a kid. But hey, y'all get your panties out of your butt, and I'll go back to ignoring this board.
No, I'm not spelling the name like I have shown, but it was show how ridiculous and mean people on this board can be about names. If we have a boy, he will be namd Willis Aidan, but only Willis is a family name.
Some people on here were nice and had constructive critism, but others were sarcastic and mean in their responses.

Oh boy, you sure did teach us an important lesson!
Fiona is her daughter's name. She's almost two years old, so it's pretty obvious that she chose the name. And I could easily interpret your comment as calling her an ogre. But whatever.
If you read around the board, you will see that I am helpful, look up names, and even provide suggestions and my opinions when asked. You on the other hand, have not contributed to any posts, and purely came on this board for entertainment, to see how many feathers you could ruffle up.
*sniff* I'll miss your contributions to the board.
I brought up Fiona because Fiona could also be considered a popular name because of the movie Shrek. That's not calling somebody an Ogre - that's digging to deep. Just like it seems Aidan became popular because of Sex and the City - though my DH came up with the name and he didn't watch SATC.

Wait, the name board is HONEST about their opinions of names? Why the eff would they want to be honest?

See the correlation? Aidan:SATC::Fiona:Shrek
So, by this logic, any name that's ever appeared on tv or in a movie could be considered a popular name like Aidan. Sound argument there.
He won't be a third if it's not spelled the same. Changing the spelling doesn't change the sound. Don't make the poor kid spend his whole life having to spell really simple names because you wanted to be unique.
Where have you been? Aidan is the #1 boy name when you factor in variants. Aiden has a whopping 46 different spelling variations, includingAidan, Ayden, and Aadan. Of the (at least) 2,095,910 baby boys born last year, (at least) 102,992 were given an -ayden name ... 1,000 Fiona.
You crack me up.
Yep, OMG I was sarcastic. Why should I have given you a serious answer when all you wanted to do was play a game.
... goes back to helping find answers for posters who actually want opinions.
PS does little Fiona have a nn ? I think it's super adorable and never hear it around where I live. (Ohio) Aidan/Caden/and Hayden's are all over the place !
I'd much rather have people give me honest, harsh opinions about any potential names here than find them out after the kid is already born and named. You can bet that if someone here says it, ten people IRL are thinking it - they're just too nice to say it to your face. Which is why so many people give their kids such terrible names. This is an internet message board, not a place to be nice.
Ah, you beat me to the punch.
I totally agree with the above. I want to hear the worse of the worse about a name I am considering, so I'm glad that this board exists for that purpose.
If I really loved a name and was set on using it, I wouldn't troll around this board asking for opinions. If you love something, then you shouldn't need outside validation.
If you're considering something, then it's nice to have an honest to god stranger's opinion on the matter.
1. the names will still get mixed up even/especially if you change one letter.
2. you can't really do a III if it's not the same name, sorry...

No. Just no. Step away from the cre8v spelling.
