how do your lo's pull up to standing?

What do they pull up on?  My LO crawls and loves to stand, but I put him in a standing position, there isn't really anything I have that he can pull on up to stand (nothing within his grasp - the couch is too high).  Do you provide your lo with things to pull up on?

  • The dog...no joke, this is how my DD learned to pull up too. She's huge and a total sweetheart:)

  • The sides of his crib, the coffee table, and our sofa (which is a low sectional). Now that he can stand that's all he wants to do.

  • I went and looked for toys she could pull up on like the go baby go musical jungle, the ride on train, a leap frog activity table and the parents choice wooden activity cube and then I found them on craigslist for around 15.00 a piece. She pulls up and cruises from toy to toy to couch. We also put up a super playyard gate across our living room to block her from our kitchen dining area, so she had her own play room in our living room. So far all these things have worked really well. In just a couple weeks from introducing these, she can now pull up on flat walls.

  • She tries (and usually succeeds) to stand up on everything: the table legs, her swing, our pant legs, the couch, us if we're laying down, she's even managed the wall!

  • DS has been using anything he can.  The TV stand, the coffee table, the couch, his crib, the ottoman to the rocking chair in his room, the basket that holds his stuffed animals, even the side of the armoire in his room.

  • The laundry basket was the first thing he used.  I was all, "heeeeey, where did you learn that?"  He tries on the jumperoo legs and activity table, but they are a little too tall and slick right now.
