So, DH and I met with the RE today in order to find out if we would go ahead with the IVF or if I should take the thyroid out and then continue with the IVF as soon as it is out and he agreed to neither. He wants me to have my thyroid out and then wait 4-6 weeks to test the level in order to make sure that my levels are back in the normal range. He does not want me to wait to get the thyroid out in fear that if I get pregnant and something goes wrong with the thyroid, it is too risky to take it out at that point. So, now, the soonest that we can prepare my body for a FET is May. I am so sick of the waiting game. To make matters worse, we have a vacation planned (which I am excited about) for June 20th and July 11th, so if things do not go the right way, May might have to be pushed back to late July or August...I am just so sick of waiting. Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm so sorry, there is nothing worse than wanting so desperately to start and being told you have to wait months. But I completely agree with Amanda, having your body in the best condition will give you a much better chance of having a healthy pregnancy. That being said it still so hard to have to wait so long.
Wishing you the best of luck with your thyroid surgery.
Ugh, I am so sorry. I remember feeling so despairing when I found out I had to sit out the December, January, and probably February cycles.
But, of course, your health is critical, and getting your thyroid taken care of is more important than anything else right now.
Good luck!
