silly size question

So I don't know if preemies fit any kind of a mold or not but my ds was born at 26 6 in Aug.  (Currently almost 7 months, 4 adj.) and is doing great so I am so thankful!  I am looking to start buying summer clothes for him and not sure what size I should be buying.  He is just starting to wear 3-6 months right now but the waist is good fitting now.  Length is still long but that shouldn't really be a shorts factor.  We live in MN so it won't really get shorts weather for him until probably towards May.  Should I buy 6-12 months or will they be huge on him?  Any advice? I love gymboree if that helps for sizing wise.  Thanks so much!!

How much does he weigh now? Jack is still in 3 month stuff, starting to get into 3-6. I'm buying 6-9 month for summer. I figure if he starts to out grow it at the end of the summer I can always go buy more YKWIM?

Kate- I am not sure how much he weighs now it has been a few weeks since we had a weight check.  I would guess around 13lbs give or take.  I will know on Thur though.  Your LO looks like he is doing great!! So happy for you- what a long amazing journey! I never did find you on facebook- you should try to find me on there.  Thanks for the advice- not that I need any new stuff anyway but I can't help it!!

We went completely by weight and length.  I would maybe start buying 6 months if he is 13lbs because I think that is what you would find by looking at most brands.  DD is so long that we have to size up on a lot of things so referencing the measurements on the tags really helped us.
